Argh! How do I remove crazy glue?

A rambunctious 3 year old came to my house today and grabbed everything in view.

I had to get out the crazy glue to fix it all, now its all over my fingers. What do I do?

Amputate? WHAT!!!!

Fingernail polish remover is your friend. However, having callouses on your hands can be fun!

a good scrubbing should remove your skin along with the krazy glue.

Ill try it all the remedies, the worst is over now. At one point both of my fingers were stuck together and I could not pull them apart.

Thanks!

I've had good luck with just the warm water and peeling, but I have really mild psoriasis on my fingers, so there's usually some extra skin layers to spare.

Once you have the glue off your fingers, take the glue over to the three year old's house, and let him have it. Tell the parents you're even.

Thanks, its still a battle with acetone. If acetone is the silver bullet, it works very very slowly.

yeah, and be careful around open flames. However, the cleansing power of fire, esp. acetone fueled fire, would probably do a number on the super glue. Guarantee you that by the time the bandages come off, you will not be able to find a spot of superglue on your skin grafts.

One time when I was a kid I superglued my fist shut just to see what would happen. My mom was not pleased.

Did you leave any fingers loose? If so and it is the same finger I am thinking of, I can see why she was displeased.

I've superglued a bindi to my forehead before because it was a bit too heavy for normal glue. Acetone took it out really well, and what also helps is if you steam your face first, or put a warm towel over it.

Jeez, I hope you all are only joking about acetone. You really should put an emoticon on your posts to let folks know you are kidding.

Acetone is very, very bad stuff. It passes through the skin very easily, enters the bloodstream, crosses the blood - brain barrier and harms the central nervous system.

^ my best guess is that nail polish remover is far less toxic than acetone.
