It's raining cats and dogs! AAAH!!

So I'm getting the new dog on Sunday, as I've mentioned in my other thread. Three days ago, a stray cat decided that my friend's place would be a good place to give birth, and my friend, like the bleeding-heart she is, took responsibility for it and its kittens. I offered to help her out, and possibly take one off her hands if she couldn't find a good home for it, providing the dog is ok with the cat. So in about 12wks I would possibly have had another cat. Two cats and one dog (one cat and the dog living with me, teh kitteh with teh bf) seemed like an ok number of pets at my stage of life.

But lo and behold, just today, a relative of teh bf dropped off a cat at his place! A purebred Ragdoll at that. They said they couldn't take care of her any more, and were originally going to give her to teh bf's grandma. But grandma, being old, said she could only take care of one cat, so she suggested us. Without asking. Or rather, she "asked" by telling that the cat would be dropped off.

Two new animals at one time seems like an awful lot of work. Le sigh. I think she's a bit less than 1yr old, but she's already bigger than teh kitteh (or maybe that's just her fluff, I don't know). Right now she's cowering under the bed while teh kitteh, bless his heart, is trying to get her to come out and play. It's a good thing he's not being all territorial! I do hope they get along.

But argh! Too many pets at one time! It's raining cats and dogs!!!

Positive thinking!!

It's a good thing the two older animals already have all their shots for the year. I'd hate to pay for vaccinations for three animals.

Foo, meet Pretty Kitty (another temporary name until we find a suitable one):

Note her lazor eyes of dooooooooooom. She managed to get into the garage when someone went in to do laundry, and she hid under the deepest, darkest cabinet she could find. Oh, such a pain.

I finally managed to coax her out with treats, and shut the garage door. She's not going in there any more!

She's been exploring the house for a while, but she's still scared of every little noise and every person who walks by. We kept teh kitteh outside and they've been interacting a little through the screen door. Teh kitteh keeps trying to speak to her in his pidgin cat-human talk, but pretty kitty does not deign to answer.

But finally, she plopped down for a belly rub!

Welcome to our family, Pretty Kitty!

One of our cats was called Pretty Kitty also, but it was soon shortened to P.K. She decided after 12 years to start pooping on our furniture so now she's an outdoor cat. It was either that or the needle. We feed her and go out and pet her, but indoors is no longer her domain.

Well, pretty kitty was unplanned for, but we'll love her just the same as our other planned furbabies.

She does have a very...um, snobby face. Teh kitteh has been trying to play with her but she hisses at him and runs away to hide. He just wants to play, pretty kitty!

They did eat out of the same bowl earlier, so that's a good sign.

In true Ragdoll fashion, she goes limp when you pick her up. When I did that earlier to get her out of the garage, she went docile, but a moment later she realized she does not know who the **** I am, so she started clawing me. Ouch. I have claw marks on my left shoulder now.

Oh, and I think her name is Pillow now. When teh bf called her Pillow, she responded and trotted up to him.
