So I'm getting the new dog on Sunday, as I've mentioned in my other thread. Three days ago, a stray cat decided that my friend's place would be a good place to give birth, and my friend, like the bleeding-heart she is, took responsibility for it and its kittens. I offered to help her out, and possibly take one off her hands if she couldn't find a good home for it, providing the dog is ok with the cat. So in about 12wks I would possibly have had another cat. Two cats and one dog (one cat and the dog living with me, teh kitteh with teh bf) seemed like an ok number of pets at my stage of life.
But lo and behold, just today, a relative of teh bf dropped off a cat at his place! A purebred Ragdoll at that. They said they couldn't take care of her any more, and were originally going to give her to teh bf's grandma. But grandma, being old, said she could only take care of one cat, so she suggested us. Without asking. Or rather, she "asked" by telling that the cat would be dropped off.
Two new animals at one time seems like an awful lot of work. Le sigh. I think she's a bit less than 1yr old, but she's already bigger than teh kitteh (or maybe that's just her fluff, I don't know). Right now she's cowering under the bed while teh kitteh, bless his heart, is trying to get her to come out and play. It's a good thing he's not being all territorial! I do hope they get along.
But argh! Too many pets at one time! It's raining cats and dogs!!!
