Still around, alive & well.

I know I have not been posting lately. There is a good reason for that. My wife & I are what you would call between internet providers at home & have some other computer problems that need to be fixed before we obtain new service. But I am still around, alive & well.

My new job is going great. Been there about 2 months now after being laid off for almost 5 months from I job I had for almost 2 years. Started to get a little worried. In Iowa unemployment benefits run out after 27 weeks, or about 6 months. And because of the economy & the war in Iraq there is no federal money for extensions, nor any state money either. But I'm back to work, very happy about it, etc.

I'm no longer drafting anymore though, which is something I did for over 10 years. Right now there are no drafting or related jobs in my local area. Will I go back to drafting or related work if a position opens up? I don't know right now.

What I am doing for the company I work for is logistics, which is nothing more then a glorified receiving & shipping clerk, (this only takes about 2 to 4 hours a day), I also take care of inside sales & I'm starting outside sales in my immediate local area too. With the company I work for there is lot's of room & oppurtunity to advance, not to mention lots's of oppurtunity to learn a totally new trade, which is what I am doing. With drafting work there really wasn't. I'm going to give this company & my position there time to advance as far as I can for right now & see what happens. So time will tell.

Please forgive me for not revealing the name of my company. I have made similar mistakes in the past regarding this on the internet, in another discussion forum. It ended up being one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made because such information was used against me in more ways then I care to admit to. About 3.5 years ago I ended up losing a job I had for 6 years & dearly loved as a result of me revealing the info. being used against me. So again please forgive for not being to forth coming about certain things.

Anyway, please take care. I hope all of you are doing well. You're all in my thoughts & prayers.

I'll be around as much as I can to post, respond to PM's, etc. as right now I can only log on at someplace like Kinko's, etc. (For this thread I am using my in-laws computer.)
