I finally quit bleeding

So my dentist has been very concerned about my gum loss and bleeding gums. I was brushing twice daily, flossing, using a mouth rinse, still had bleeding. Tried antibiotics under gums, still bleeding and tissue loss. Baffled.

The wife recently bought us both Equate brand electric toothbrushes to replace our regular old manual brushes. I began using it and using much less pressure to brush, since the brush slowed down if too much pressure was applied.

So I go to the dentist for a 1 month check, since the bleeding was sooooo bad on my last visit. Bleeding is gone. Dentist amazed. Only thing that changed was the brush and the pressure.

Turns out that I have been hurting myself by brushing too hard trying to cure my bleeding gums. I was the problem. DOH!

I expected a thread detailing a 12 step program to quit a blood letting addiction.

the last time you bought a 3-pack of toothbrushes? they weren't just different colors. You should have used the white one, not the gold or silver one.

You're also going to have to come up with a better excuse to end those excessively long phone conversations. I was always fond of "I have to go, my gums are bleeding again."

Yeah, using a toilet scrubber is a recipe for bleeding gums.

If you foot was in my mouth, then I think the chances are good that they might. Not sure my mouth is big enough for both our feet though.

Careful there, Hello Kitty has a mean side after she's downed a few shots of tequila.

On a serious note, if that is at all possible in a thread started by the OP, I changed dentifrice and introduced a allergen into my mouth. My gum started bleeding and I'm thinking "Scurvy?"

Turned out I'm allergic to a very common preservative in many "personal" products. Paraben.

No really I read this somewhere, it's a sure sign of Lycanthropy. The subject insists that he's not infected and tries to eat a normal life. He still eats foods laden with vegetables and flavored with spices and garlic. Still using the best silverware? You just have to let go and be you!
