I usually open a window and turn on a fan when I need to vent. Giant red X's don't accomplish much.

I'm almost 50, and I'm totally convinced that most of what I deal with is a pile of bull being orbited by clueless flies.

People: Do not direct traffic from within your vehicle.

I know you're just trying to be "nice", but since I don't trust you as far as I can throw you, don't know if you're waving at me or talking with hand gestures on your cell, despite the fact that you are entirely unqualified to direct traffic...and the fact that you're breaking the law by doing so...just follow the law and take the right of way when going straight through a two-way stop. You just let eleventeen opportunities for me to turn left go by due to your "courtesy". Really, it doesn't help anyone.

To my manager,
Do not approach my desk saying, "I really hate to have to do this to you...". If you hate doing something, go with your feeling and don't! Give the assignment to another inspector, I'm not the only one on the team! Geesh!

+1 This!

And with the political season, it only amplifies the above. I have developed an artform of taking what they are "against" or what they are attacking their opponent with, and restating it with "What I am for". It is NOT flattering and only illistrates they haven't a clue what they are talking about.

I have grown weary of the BS at my office, and finally today I get to give everyone a taste of their own medicine! Bwahahahaha

Never hand urgent paperwork with incomplete investigatory work to the guy whose every investigation you've been nit-picking to death for the past 6 months. It's not that I'm being a pass/agg prick and just bottlenecking it on my desk. That would be petty and useless. I am insisting that every single shred of information, including all the ridiculous and inapplicable "worst case scenarios" that have be presented to me to defend in my work, are answered before I'll slap my signature on it. They will learn to dread these three words in the same way I do:
"But, what if..."

Don't snap at me on my last day at work and I'm the only guy working the phones. I will hang up on you and make you go through the phone tree again only to wait on hold for 15 minutes while I take my break.

"Oh sorry, the phone disconnected. I waited for you to call back before taking my break. Honestly, I did."

Everyone goes through the hurdles in life but they build you up. It makes you stronger. You learn from it, you grow from it.

And although it's hard, I always welcome the negative things that happen in my life because I know that I am strong enough to get through them. I believe that I can do it, I can get over it and I can become a better, wiser person because of it. Mistakes will happen that will sometimes pull us down but that is all part of becoming the person who you are ~ the person that can pass on the lessons in life that will become so valuable to those that follow behind us.

Yes, I get tired of things that have become everyday challenges but I know deep inside that because of these, I am becoming the best person I can ever be. So I do welcome all that comes my way. Good or bad. Head on.
