Hmm... Last time mine was checked it was 168.

But That was when I was like 7 or 8 years old. I've killed a lot of brain cells since then.

online iq tests are a joke. most of them dont take into account time and age which totally invalidates the test; the results arent normalized. they scale everybodys result by 25% so people get excited and purchased their "in-depth , analyzed results"

run through the tests randomly - see what happens

IQ being what (other than Intelligence Quotient)? What is it set up to predict? Does it even do that well? Its a pointless test.

That being said, HereNT and i are tied. And we both ride fixed. WHAT"S THAT TELL YOU KIDS!!

Still fun to do though. Get a bunch of co-workers and time them while they do it. Then see how they compare so that you can make fun of them later, hehehehe.

A simple IQ test (for those that drive) What do you do while driving? If your answer was anything other than DRIVE you are an EFFING moron.

You should also be aware that the only useful measure of IQ is the percentile you're in.
If people tell you they have an IQ of 130, that only tells you that they're above average. If the standard deviation for that score is 15, then they're in the top 2 per cent of the population. If the standard deviation is 24, the score needed for the top 2 percent is 148.
On the other hand, if the score of 130 is on the scale using an SD of 24, the score will only be slightly above the normal range. Top 25% or so.

Most celebrity IQ scores you see are likely to be on the scale with the SD of 24.

There ARE decent online tests. And even the mediocre ones give an indication of roughly where you are on the scale.

IQ is a pretty good indicator of general ability. It's often bashed by people who don't understand it, or by people who suspect they're barely average.
A person with a low IQ is not a bad person, of course, but ignoring the fact that people are different and have different mental capacities, is not good...
You won't find people arguing that a tape measure doesn't measure body height, because we can see how short or tall someone is.

I got a 108 . But what exactly is intelagence ( spelling) Is lance armstrong a genious ?
Tiger woods ? anyway , Im not a genious . But I know reality , and the illusians . Like good ole skull and bonor boyz bush and kerry who are also cousins . I know that depleted uranium is 4.5 billion years of birth defects , that the thermisol in vaccines is a mojor cause of neurological problems in the young and old as well as flourides and the aluminum that is used daily , I know that when you chew gum or eat the the mercury fillings in your teeth emit mercury gas I know that wars are staged , by the pedophile inbred ruling elite . So , what can we make of this I.Q test ? I think common sense is as great and perhaps greater then genious . Nikola Telsa , the smartest man of modern times , his inventions are silenced by the same group of inbred misfits that are poisening your kids , and causeing all the wars . ie , free energy !

Last one I took said I was somewhere above 130. Sometimes I question whether or not I'm really all that smart, but then I talk to people and I realise that most people are, in fact, stupid. That could just be my opinion. I'm probably just an *******.

In Australia there was a program called the National IQ test on TV it said my IQ was 139 or 142 (I forget) but also on one of those online tests it said I had an IQ of 179, tell me that ain't BS no way I have an IQ of 179. I know that I probably have a high IQ judging by school results and competitions, (hell, I'm in the to 99.95% of mathamaticinas in Austalia and New Zealand from one of my Maths Competitions.) but I would be surprised if it was really over 125.

I have a pretty good memory for remembering facts and things like that, but apparently memory doesn't actually have anything to do with your IQ.

Congratulations!
Your general IQ score is 134.

A person whose IQ score falls in the range of 129-143 is considered to be "highly intelligent".

One practical use for the IQ test is if you administer it to children you can develop a curriculum for them that is challenging and interesting. Otherwise, if the curriculum is geared toward the lowest common denominator, the smart ones get bored and labeled as ADD (not that all ADD kids are geniuses, but it could happen).

Funny thing about that National IQ thing on TV, what would they have said had their results showed that everyone in the entire country was a complete dropkick (and let me tell you, up here a blanket statement like that would be right in at least 95% of cases)? Somehow I suggest they were always going to put a positive spin on it because they don't want to hurt their ratings.

And let's face it, it was on Channel 9. If it's Channel 9 viewers, the ratings will be the only thing that reaches double figures.

From IQTest.com:

Your IQ is: 149
Your results have been emailed to you. Mail from our server sometimes gets filtered, so please check your bulk mail folder before requesting your results again. If you would like us to send your results again click here.

I don't know how much I buy the online test. I have yet to take an actual administered IQ test. This site does, however, take into consideration speed and age.

Actually its 100, the average IQ of any group is 100. However if your comparing the U.S. mean score to a test normalized for the whole world and using a standard deviation of 15 then, last time I checked with a reliable source, we get 103.
Japan gets 115(a full st dev ) Netherlands* 110, Germany* 109, and the rest drop from there.(*I don't remember these numbers exactly but they are within a point or two) I don't have the numbers but folks online have a much higher average score, going online doesn't make you smart but you must be some what intelligent to operate a comp..

I think IQ tests serve a few very good purposes. Like determining a childs general education needs, keeping a highly intelligent kid in standard public school classes will severely limit that child, likewise it can show just how much someone is in over their head. Furthermore(<--best word ever!) I don't see it limiting someone but rather giving an intelligent person, who previosly thought they were average, a kick in the butt to go use their gift. There are other valid uses within psycology, in studies and so on.

Also it has been shown that it is quite difficult for people seperated by one standard deviation to communicate efficiantly for anything beyond basic everyday interaction(small talk). It is hard for the smart chap to constantly dumb down his side and hard for the lower scoring chap to understand many of the concepts presented. This isn't a sharp cut off mind you, for an example I'll use the most common stand. dev. of 15, in depth communicaton starts getting rough with a 10 point difference and becomes like pulling teeth around a 20 point spread. This may present as an internal "It's so simple, why doesn't he get it?" or a "What the heck is he talking about?"

And yes pecentile scores are the only real way to compair results between differing tests. And the standard test is only accurate for people within approx. 1-1/2 to 2 standard deviations of the mean, for people who score above or below 1.5-2 st.dev.(depends on which test) on a standard test than they should take a test designed for their approximate IQ range.

Interesting, at test cafe I got 113(After 3 beers and two shots while watching Wanda Sykes on Comedy Central) I usually hit in the 110-120 range. No genius, yet can fix anything that works with moving parts, read at the sixth grade level in kindergarten, and placed out of high school scoring in the seventh grade, Hmmm. (Pinky to corner of lip) IQ scoring is starting to sound like a way for people with limited real world skills to feel good about themselves. IQ testing, promoted by academics, Hmmm. Interesting.

There are different things different tests test for. I took one a while back that tested mechanical aptitude and spacial relations. it scored in percentile.
