What kitchen utensils are most used?

In here we ALWAYS ran out of forks before anything else. They somehow make their way into rooms, porch, backyard, etc, not making the full round trip to the sink where they could be washed/re-used. We have the exact amount of forks as we have of spoons, knives, etc. But forks are always in high demand, specially when the kids are here.

    What about you?

PS: Siu, we already know you won't run out of knives anytime soon

    Glasses.

I always fill up a glass full of water. Proceed to place it on the coffee table, then head into the bedroom for something. I realize I need a drink of water, so I go to the kitchen, grab another glass and fill it water and proceed with it back to the bedroom setting it on the dresser. Then, I realize I need something from our office/library/bicycle workspace and go in there, realizing I need more water. Back to the kitchen, grab another glass and fill it with water and proceed back to the office/library/bicycle workspace.

You can see the dilemma. My girl gives me a hard time because at any one time, there can be six or seven partially empty glasses of water around the house.

We run out of oyster knives. We are constantly under attack by mutant zombie oysters and shucking is the only thing that stops them.

definitely spatulas. As far as silverware, well we have so much for the two of us, we're always running out of dishwasher space before silverware.

The safest knife is a sharp knife. You should thank him for sharpening them.

^This! A clean cut from a sharp knife has clean edges and has less tissue death than a jagged cut from a dull knife that tears rather than slices. A sharp knife will take much less effort to do the same job, so if you do slip up and cut yourself, you will do so with less effort than if you were straining to do the same job with a dull knife.
