Help Me Find Recordings that Probably Don't Exist.
Even though this deals with music, it’s more like a challenge in using one’s resources. I have been looking for recordings of these two compositions off and on for the past few months, and I can’t find anything. I asked at music forums, but I got the “not famous enough, so we don’t care” attitude from the forum regulars.
So, I am wondering if FOO has resources beyond my capabilities to find recordings—any
recordings—of these two compositions. It doesn’t matter if they are digital recordings online or on an album of some sort; performer doesn’t matter, either. Otherwise, I think I may be on a track to just recording the things myself.
#1: The piece is called “Five Interludes” (piano solo) and the composer is Rachel Eubanks. Two of the five
Interludes exist on a compilation CD, but I am looking for a recording of the entire set
of all five.
#2: The piece is called “12 Student Pieces, Op. 31” (piano solo) and the composer is Reinhold Gliere (sometimes "Glier"). Alternative titles may be “12 Pieces Enfantines” or “Zwolf Kinderstucke.” The “Op. 31” part is the important part here. The only thing I have found are a bunch of preteens hacking away at one of the 12 pieces on YouTube.
So, since the composers are dead I can’t ask them, but you never know who knows what when it comes to this stuff here on FOO. My next shot at it would be to contact the person who recorded part of the first set of pieces, but that hasn’t been too easy, either. I was even thinking of coughing up five bucks and asking at MetaFilter, but I have more trust in FOO.
I am curious if this goes anywhere…at all.
Oh, yeah, please and thank you.
