Getting taken advantage of

I hate the feeling that I'm being used. I didn't realize that I look like a babysitter for random children.

Give the kids Kool-Aid and tell them it's Pabst Blue Ribbon. When they go home and tell mom you gave them PBR, they'll never drop them off with you again.

Mom will think you have awful taste in beer and never come around again - that's the reason

Well don't blow it yet! Keep them around until Halloween, send them out trick o' treating, shake them down for the candy then pull the PBR trick on them.

I would wash the van. that "free candy" on the side in shoe polish is probably what is causing this.

The kids and I were in Joy's classroom waiting for her to be done with conferences. While we were there, a mom walked in with her daughter and then left. Not a word to me, just left her daughter like I was the freakin' nanny or something. Nothing like watching 3 rowdy kids while trying to do Calculus homework...

Speaks well of the mom that she would just leave her kid with a stranger!

Haha, our client at work will drop off his kid and walk away for a while. The kid and I would have a staredown. Very uncomfortable moments.

When my dad lived a 5-hour's drive away, I would drive up to see him. When I was about 20 minutes out, my dad and his girlfriend would leave--and I would end up babysitting 4 completely unruly kids. I would see my dad the next morning for 5 minutes as I got read to leave for home, and that was that. After this happened 7 times or so, he had the nerve to wonder why I didn't go visit anymore.

We used to get that all the time when I was up working behind Student Services. All of a sudden we realized there were to kids sitting by themselves (or running around and jumping on the chairs, etc) with no adult around. And then in some time a woman came for her kids ---- the Dean met her at the door and asked what was going on and the normal excuse would be that she was in class.

Come on!

Heh, my wife has all kinds of students who try to bring their kids to class. Disaster. Then suddenly it's my wife's fault that her students fail because they couldn't attend class because they couldn't bring their kids.

That has happened to me when I have been waiting in Ms. MillCreek's elementary school classroom for her to finish up or return to the classroom. I figure that these parents either think I am another teacher, or have seen my picture on Ms. MillCreek's desk and figure I must be ok as a temporary custodian.

Fortunately, I never had that problem, but I mainly only taught younger undergrads and I don't think I had any non-traditional path students. Not that I remember anyway.

I worked at a movie theater in college. During the summer, one lady would drop her kid off when the theater opened in the morning, and wouldn't come to pick him up until about 6 pm. This happened almost every weekday.

I think you should report her. Make sure you show the authorities your wavy tongue. She'd get into trouble for sure!
