    Trying to eat 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day. A handful of carrot sticks or an apple can stave off hunger pretty well. They also fill you up so you eat less of other stuff.

    This ^^^^ Eat like 9 small healthy meals a day and stay active, thats the only real way to shed pounds and stay healthy, all else is bull****, just people trying to make money off of your lack of will power.

    When you're hungry, throw some gum in the ol' pie hole. When you're done chewing, if you are still hungry eat something. Eat some protein with each snack. According to many nutritional magazines, this helps dampen the hunger reflex longer. If you only eat carbs, the sugar crash afterwards (you blood sugar level dropping rapidly) makes you hungry for more. Proteins help to temper this and thus you don't get the blood sugar crash.

    A lot of nutritionists recommend snack combinations such as fruit/nuts/cheese. Fruit has carbs, but a lot of fiber. Nuts has protien fiber and fat (which makes you feel satisfied). Cheese is high in protein and that all satisfying fat.

    Some fat is good, a lot isn't. Low fat cheese is a good way to go.

    and lets not forget the 20 minute rule, eat your first small healthy meal of the day then wait 20 minutes, if your REALLY still hungry after 20 minutes have a little more, but just a little. If your still feeling hungry after that its just you being a slob so don't eat till your next scheduled meal time.
