Need Some BF Opinions Here!

Having a bit of a crisis. I have about $150k laying around, and need some new wheels.

I've done lots of research and increased my budget from $100k. There is nothing decent at that price.

Help me narrow down my choices:

2011 Corvette ZR1 $125,600 as configured. 638 HP. Manual transmission - negative. Made in America - automatically better than the following two cars.

2011 Maserati Quattroporte GT-S $139,100 4 door... room for the family.

2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S $160,050 a little over my price range, but hey, it's a Porsche. The badge is worth an extra $10k or so, right?

I'm also planning to buy my wife a car so I can justify my purchase. Here are some options for her:

2011 Miata MX-5... about $25,000. Just enough car so that she won't get carried away (or compete with me).

2011 Honda Crosstour, about $30k. No upside to this car, but it would be funny to make her drive something so ugly.

Thanks for looking. It's not fun having all this extra cash laying around.

Also any thought on this? Never heard of this company. http://www.panozauto.com/

I hate when that happens. Imagine how Apple feels, they have $50 billion.

Panoz makes a gorgeous car. Their stoyline is this - they built a race car for LeMans, but for it to be legal in the race, there had to be a homologous road-going car on which the race car is based, and born was the Esperante. Very very cool, in that the road car is based on the race car, not the other way around.

If I were in your shoes - 911 GT3 RS in a heartbeat. The GT2 is a sledgehammer, the GT3 is a scalpel.
For the love of God, don't get your wife a crosstour. Get her a Venza instead....if she wants a cheap roadster, get her an s2000.

If you buy something in the $150K price range, it's just going to cost you more in the long run because you'll constantly want to upgrade it.

Spending $150k on a depreciating value item is just not smart.

You keep putting a "k" after the dollar amount. Surely that is a typo. And you are talking about Matchbox cars, right?

(I assume this didn't originate in FOO.)

150k is how many miles I'd like to get out of a vehicle, not how much I want to spend on it.

The wildly-underfunded Bikingshearer Retirement Fund would be more than happy to relieve you of the burden.
