Do men really care about women's nails?

I don't. And most men I know, don't either. Hair, yes.... perfume, oh yeah! But long acrylic nails with elaborate designs, we don't care. Personally, I'll even avoid those... too expensive, can't afford it, sorry.

However, every time I talk about this with some female they claim men DO CARE about the nails...

So, lets check the opinions around here:

Question 1) Are you a female or a male?

Question 2) Do you think men care about women nails?

2) I hardly look at women's hands at all. Which gets me into trouble since I don't notice engagement or wedding rings.

It's just something for fat/ugly women to do "for themselves" that will look nice since the rest of them is disgusting. Buy a ****ing gym membership already!

I do pay attention to nails.

If they have them, don't bother inviting them to go camping.

Length and shape of the nails is very important for how it feels on your back...

2. I think most men only notice them if they seem incongruous to the woman that has them. i.e. - Beyonce with short, unpainted nails - would get noticed. Gen X rock climber woman with long, painted nails - would get noticed. WalMart waddler - wouldn't look at long enough to notice in any case.

They can also ruin saw blades.

male.

To a point. I notice if they are unkempt, overly long or overly done, dirty etc.

I do like a nice french manicure on a woman, or just nicely done finger and toe nails, but do not care at all for any of the far out stuff with multi colors, bedazzling, whatever.

And as long as they are well kept, I do not mind nails in their natural state.

Male.

A woman's nails tell you a lot about her. Simple, clean, tidy? So is she, and a joy to be around.

Fancy, expensive, worried about breakage? Hope you can cook for yourself, and FORGET about FOREPLAY.

as long as they don't look like shreks nails, i'm good...I mean, keep 'em nice, but too much time spent on them is just way to high maintenance for me....

1) Female

2) I don't care what men think about my fingernails. I keep them short and clean.

From my martial arts days, long nails = can't make a good fist for a punch.
From my days of working in the medical device industry, long nails = germ carriers that spread infection. Lots of hospitals don't allow long nails because they can't be kept clean.

As far as men's nails go, they should be clean and neatly trimmed. I don't care if a guy has grease stains from working on a car (or bike), but visible dirt under the nails is icky.

I hate long nails on men. It's just too creepy. Occasionally I'll see a guy with really long pinky nails - ewwwwwww.

Same here.
But if they are noticeably dirty, or look like something out of an Indian shrine (ridiculously long and painted), that's a bad thing...

2) I don't really care either way. Just as long as she is feminine. If that involves painting her nails then that is cool. If not, that is cool as well.
