We have a parrot

As you might know, Rube is now on a co-habitation agreement. As part of the merger we now have one of this:

His sole purpose in life is to scream stuff (it's really loud) and to shake/ring a small bell.

A guy ,who should remain nameless, could decide one day to air out the house and open the doors then get busy doing other things and a little while later let the bird out for some exercise.

Since your "roommate" has a pet, perhaps you should get a pet. I bet the local shelter has some cute cats up for adoption.

Cornish game hen. Just cook it in Jamaican Jerk spices and you are good to go.

Thankfully on divorce the African Gray went with the ex. While they can be fun; they create a ton of noise, a ton of mess and it hurts like hell if they decide to bite you. That plus they live 75 years, I am happy with our arraingement. My new policy is pet free for the remainder of my days.

True, true and true.

I could not believe how loud they can be. That little thing can scream louder than my daughter, that's really loud. Lucky for us, the house is really long, with the laundry room on one side, away from the bedrooms. That puts 2 closed doors and a whole house between us, enough so I could sleep noise free (kinda).

His food is a mix of different seeds but he doesn't like some. So, he let us know by picking the ones he doesn't like and trowing them outside the cage. But it only takes 10 seconds to sweep it, it's dry food and there's no carpet. I don't really have a problem with that. My kids are messier.

I was warned that he bites. Ergo, as much as I wanna pet the cute birdie, I keep my distance. If you get close to the cage for too long, he warns you by biting hard on the cage bars. Maybe is a territorial thing, don't know.

We don't know how old he is. He was an adult when the GF got him and that was 10 years ago.

Maybe you are using a metric wrench on a standard parrot.

I had a parrot like that one time. He was a good pal. He cleaned my fingernails for me and helped me eat Cheerios and popcorn. I miss him.

Sell it, you're ex obviously couldn't afford it and I'm sure now that you have the kids you can use the spare change.

Turparroducken. Stuff the parrot into to the chicken etc. Perfect for Thanksgiving. Or staple it's feet to the hood of your car for a unique, attention getting ornament.

Birds aren't pets. They are BBQ.

Not long ago, there was a man that was brought up on animal cruelty charges because he shot his wife's parrot because it made lots of noise, and he had had enough. He was watching NASCAR at the time.
My sister and BIL also have an African Grey. It too makes a loud screaching sound, constantly. My BIL, will only say "WILL YOU SHUT THAT F*****G THING UP!" and "I HATE THAT F*****G THING" when asked about the bird. It's a wonder he hasn't done serious ill to the bird.

The bird pictured in Rubes post is not an African Grey.

Many years ago I picked up a Cockatoo and a Rotty pup in the same week, we were having a hard time teaching the pup to be alone and I had gotten upset at the constant crying a few times and yelled down to the Rott,"Shut up you you stupid dog!" on more than one occasion, so one night the dog starts crying and what do we hear from the Cockatoos cage? Yup, "Shut up you stupid dog!" LOL! First thing he ever mimicked! LOL!

Our gray would mimic the most annoying sounds; the microwave beep, beep, beep. One time I had a screen door that was making a nails on the backboard sound when opening, he picked that up right away and then he learned the noise the alarm system made when you opened a door. I truly believe the bird was evil and did these things just to drive me crazy.
