Man Fatt Meat Store

Used to be located on Broadview Avenue near Gerrard St in Toronto in the 80s. I loved riding past on the streetcar during high school.

When I moved here 18 years ago there was a restaurant called "Squat & Gobble".

I wonder why it failed?

Moved somewhere new recently and have started to notice a company van with the surname "Rimmer" written in big letters on the side. Still makes me smile.

Pen Island looked good on paper, but their net presence somehow changes the concept.

Locally, there's Swindle's Jewlery.

The former local accountant named Cheatham is now in jail for stealing a few hundred thousand in clients' funds.

On the web, there's this site that seems like it should go with the "Flatulence in the peleton" thread: http://www.speedofart.com/

Lots of good ones. This is my favourite so far. Reminds me of another one I had posted here a couple of years ago. A doctors office in Saskatchewan called Dr. Zbeetnoff.

jsharr beat me to the Pen Island (www.penisland.com) company. (You can click it; it's safe and interesting.)

Doesn't Iowa have Kum & Go gast stations?

ETA: That URL is blocked at my work. Nice filter, considering the crap that isn't blocked here...

Safe and interesting are relative terms and open to interpretation by the end user.

Yes and no, respectively.

A few months ago, a new one opened not too far from where I live and some people were genuinely outraged over the name. "It's disgusting - I'll never shop there" etc.
