Where do you foos download your music from.

My GF gave me a new Ipod for Christmas. My old Ipod was formatted for my old Mac which I haven't used in about four years, so I haven't downloaded any music in a long time.
Other than Itunes, what are some good sites?

Great source for high resolution downloads, but they also have "CD QUALITY" or mp3 downloads that your iPod can play.

Hmm...Free Blubster, or $19.95 for Blubster Deluxe/XXL. So it costs money to illegally download music. I'm in.

CD's or Amazon and some iTunes for me

Yeah used cds from or wherever and rip them

I also buy a lot from individual artists, but mostly they are small-time enough that there's no other place to buy them and no used ones circulating. When they're that small-time I feel better buying direct from them than 2nd-3rd-hand anyway.

My steps:

Band's website
iTunes (because of the ease of doing so)
Zune Marketplace (they give ten "free" MP3 downloads a month.)

Here in Austin, CD places either are the big box stores (which get enough of my business when I go for electronic stuff, and their selection is usually available online), or the small shops which deserve patronage. However, AFIAK, almost all these shops are located where parking is just plain impossible, or will cost almost as much as the CD itself (south Congress, the drag.) If I were down there for another purchase, or if a CD shop were located in an area where parking doesn't consist of finding a garage surface lot to plunk down $20, I'd do that before ordering online just to support local businesses.

If you enjoy live music look here

if you want to download something that is listed as "streaming only", let me know. There are ways to do it.

google with filetype: in the search terms.

PS. Amazon used section.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)
