Common sense and good driving skills. Those would be nifty features to see in a car.

Because software is much less expensive on a per-unit basis than hardware, especially hardware that carries load.

KISS indeed.

Unfortunately, the more common sense you program into the car, the dumber drivers get.

Me? Give me a smallish car with about 40 hp that will get me from Point A to Point B at about 75 mpg and I'll be happy. There is no reason why we all need to drive 500 hp monster trucks.

I'd like to see an invention on a car that prevents the driver from swerving into a next lane UNTIL he/she has made a reasonable turn signal. Here in town, the Oak Cliff Turn consists of turning or switching into the next lane and THEN make the signal. What is that? Sort of an, "I'm sorry, I switched?"

One other thing people, the flying car was a lie.

We moderately tinted the rear windows on our Fit just so we didn't have to deal with the goofy baby sun shades any more. Man, I hated those baby shades.

Going even further along these lines, I'd like to see a mandatory passing grade on the Road and Written Driver's Tests required annually before you can renew your license.
