Roadies and Musical Instruments.

You knew it was going to happen... Post the musical instruments you play/own/have owned/dream about.

To start things off...

I play Organ, piano, synthesizer, harpsichord and other Baroque instruments, electromechanical instruments, and just about anything that uses some form of keyboard.

Here's a few of the instruments I play:

Jackson Warrior

One of three guitars that I have, apparently I never took pictures of the other 2. But I also have a Jackson Rhoads, and a cheap Ovation Acoustic.

How do like the Steinberger? I've heard mixed reviews on those.

The maple figuring on that fiddle is amazingly beautiful. How much is a violin of that era that's unattributable worth? How does it sound?

I collected guitars for years, now I'm down to two. My acoustic is a ten year old Martin D28 KM (Keb Mo Limited) which is a spruce top D28 with a figured koa back. Sounds, looks great, this photo isn't mine, but mine does look just like this one:

So so. I wouldn't buy one for any reason than to travel with. I also carry a zoom box and some Bose headphones so I can rock out in my hotel room and not bother anyone. For that, it is a pretty cool guitar.

My electric is a pretty plain jane Fender Custom Shop Strat; I owned an actual 1964 pre-CBS Stratocaster briefly (I sold it) and the c.2000 Custom Shop guitar completely blows it away in every respect as a guitar. The pre-CBS Strat of course has subsequently doubled in value. The Custom Shop guitar not so much : ).

some may say these don't qualify as instruments, but I make music with them, and the computer.

I really don't know how much it's worth; I haven't had a chance to get it appraised, but it has had some major repairs done (scroll split in half, a couple cracks in the body). I've been playing this violin for about 5 years now and from what I've noticed, it has a sharper tone but can still be rich. I guess it depends on the player. Currently, I'm working on the Bach Chaconne with my teacher and I think it sounds great on this instrument. I like a deeper more grave tone for the Chaconne, and so far, I've been rather successful.

That's one hell of a guitar. I have been trying to justify buying a Martin for years now. I'm looking at maybe a D18 though.

I'm currently playing an Epiphone Les Paul Standard, Epiphone Emporer II, and a Yamaha nylon string classical guitar. I also picked up a Rogue banjo to play around with. As I'm getting better I am quickly realizing a better banjo needs to be purchased in the near future.

Pcad do you have a pic of the CS Strat?

This is my youtube page althougth I forgot the password and change e mail cannot get on this one. I am jazz guitarist and also repair guitars even help with some information on writing a book on D'angelico Guitars. I worked for two well know archtop guitar makers that helped, I would do more of this but like to ride bikes and the since religious life is first now the rest of this is in the background.

So tell me what you think of the Deacon's playing although it was pretty lame with just a desk video camera?

No pics of the Strat, it's a plain jane sunburst with a nice maple neck. Great playing guitar, never goes out of whack or tune, which is rather amazing for a guitar with a whammy bar. It's 1 of a limited run of 10, RB Classic, that's for a local Fender sales rep up here Rich Briere. I just loved the guitar when I saw it in the store, nicest strat I've had, and I've had a few.

And yes that koa Martin is nice, more like a bright sounding rosewood guitar, very crisp. Martin makes some killer guitars, this one is pretty nice.

Wish I could actually play it. But I can still play a pretty mean 'Stairway'. I practice that every chance I get @ Guitar Center.
