(indie) rock music of 1994 mix

the summer of 94 was the year i discovered modern music. up until that point, i had been a classical thunder type of kid. summer camp was fun, and i spent my days playing in the woods, building forts, defeating opponents at tennis, and drawing camouflage/neon/camouflage and neon dinosaurs. i didn't take the time to write down the songs that were the soundtrack of that summer, and i am trying to piece together songs that i should include in my 94 mix.

so far:
meat puppets - backwater
collective soul - shine
alice in chains - no excuses
stone temple pilots - vasoline
soundgarden - black hole sun
live - i alone
breeders - cannonball
smashing pumpkins - disarm
dinosaur jr - feel the pain
nirvana - tbd
pearl jam - tbd

i am iffy on crash test dummies mmmx4 and cranberries.

unfortunately, i was just able to get these figured out by looking at the music charts from 94. i am sure that i am glossing over some of the lesser known music of that year. any suggestions? no candlebox or gin blossoms please.

Oi, that's a sad list for 1994. There were some great sounds out that year, but you appear to have been stuck in a cul de sac of dreary American grunge.

beck - loser
blur - girls & boys
echobelly - i can't imagine the world without me
frank black - (i want to live on an) abstract plain
guided by voices - tractor r.ape chain
lilys - ginger
lush - hypocrite
morrissey - i am hated for loving
pavement - cut your hair
portishead - sour times
stereolab - ping pong
wedding present - yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

(It's worth checking out the albums these tracks are found on, too).

+1 on the Breeders. I'm still kind of like a schoolboy when it comes to anything Kim Deal related. Pixies, Breeders, Amps...

Blood Oranges, Brain Surgeons, Built To Spill, Come, Go To Blazes...

Offspring and Green Day may have still been indie-ish then. Buffalo Tom?

I've probably heard this song more than any other. Spent a LOT of time in strip joints in the 90s.
