Quite a guy. The Band of Brothers series is one everyone should watch (or read) before rushing in to support any war.

well, that's a shame.
Food for thought: if you aren't dead by 2050, you and your entire family will be within a few years from starvation. Now that is a cruel gift to leave for your offspring. ;)
I've got your restraining order right here. [grabs crotch] Restrain this!
What a story.
From the wiki article on Winters
What a wonderful way to put it. That quote resonated with me since viewing Band of Brothers for the first time.During the interview segment of the miniseries Band of Brothers, Winters quoted a passage from a letter he received from Sergeant Mike Ranney, "I cherish the memories of a question my grandson asked me the other day when he said, 'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' Grandpa said 'No… but I served in a company of heroes…'"
Another member of the greatest generation lost to us. Rest in peace.
We're losing the survivors of WWII at an alarming rate. These folks are all heroes and we'll miss them all.
saw that yesterday on facebook. i've seen the series, but never read the book. my uncle has and said it is quite amazing. i don't particularly enjoy reading, but i will take the plunge someday and enjoy this one. R.I.P. "Cpt. Sobel, we salute the rank, not the man."
Strike like an eagle and sacrifice the dove.
