I've been craving a cookie for hours...

Ever since I woke up from a nap about 4 hours ago, I've been craving a chocolate chip cookie. I think I should just bundle up, and walk to the local convenience store to get one.

Get one?! While you're out there you should just get a pack and then share. Please? *bats eyes*

I've been craving fudge for the last two weeks but refuse to get any because I'm afraid once I start, I won't stop.

If you walk to the store in the snow, doesn't that burn enough calories to negate the cookie?

This is a tough one. On one hand, Couch knows that I'm trying to lose weight to be in better shape for long distance rides. This morning was the first time in a few months where the scale officially had me out of the Clydesdale category. (It was only 199.8, but I'll take it.)

On the other hand, Mango is batting her eyelashes at me, and it would take me only a few days to keep walking the 70 miles or so out to Amishland.

That's kind of what I'm hoping. I live only 2/3 of a mile from the store, but there's a steep valley in between, so I can burn a few extra calories walking up and down the hills. Fortunately a lot of the snow has melted today. I'm hoping to get out to ride tomorrow morning before work.

I don't buy bags or boxes of cookies because I'd kill it within 24 hours.

You could always hitch a ride on a buggy.
It was actually warm out today compared to a week ago

Yes, Mother Nature has been playing a perverse trick by coinciding the snow with my days off lately.

Last week, I went for a bike fitting at Cadence in Philly. Among other changes, they raised my seat about an inch. Let me tell you, it's fun riding across wet and icy, shaded cobbles in Manayunk with a dramatically higher center of gravity.

Alright, I figured out a way to help keep me on the straight and narrow.

I'm about to start some laundry, and I changed in to a jersey that I bought last summer. It fits a bit more snugly than I'd like, so this will help as a reminder of what I'm working toward.

I will do one more lap, I will up one more level, I will do more reps, I will not deprive myself of my cookies. Well, that and I have no will power and will eat the cookie anyway. I've been known to skip meals for ice cream and cookies.

Well, the cookie won this round. When I went to start the laundry, I realized that I wasn't getting proper water flow anywhere in my apartment. Freezing pipes didn't make any sense, since it has been above freezing today. My landlord came over and figured out the problem (pertaining to the new tenant in the front of the house), but he wanted me to wait at least 10 minutes before starting the laundry again, so... what else was I going to do?

I tried to burn off a few more calories by running up the hill on the way to the convenience store. Gotta love a 24 hour Wawa in an town so small that it only has one traffic circle, no traffic lights. It was actually pretty cool to be out so late: there was a full moon, the sky was clear, the fields were covered in snow, and there was almost no one else out. The stream at the bottom of the valley was running very strongly, so I could easily hear the water flowing under the bridge.

On the bright side, the gym I go to is open until 11 pm, so I will hit it on the way home from work Thursday night... and then I get to shovel the 2" - 4" of snow that's expected Thursday in to Friday.

Cookie... cookie... I will eat you up!

I like the way you think. Also, that's 15 less grams of fat that I need to include in my diet from elsewhere.
