removing the "fraud.sysguard" virus from my mac

Any mac experts around? I normally use Clam Zav as a virus checker for my mac. However, it hasn't been able to remove one particular one called "fraud.sysguard".

Background info: I "contracted" this virus after visiting another internet forum that I frequently participate in. One of the mods on that site noticed a similar problem in that they randomly have screens pop up that go to random websites. They noticed the problem around the same time that I did. They were able to use spybot to identify and remove the virus which is how I was able to come up with a name for the stupid thing.

How can I get it off my mac?

Take your case off and apply 99% rubbing alcohol generously on the harddrive to disinfect it from nasty viruses. Then wash off with plenty of water. Make sure to dump a bunch into all the electrical hardware. Shake gently so all the liquids gets to all the nooks and crannies. Put case back on and boot up. You'll know you are virus free when smokes comes out of the computer.

Oh ok. thanks. The only alcohol I have in the house at the moment is some sweet Marsala wine which I was planning to use for cooking. Will that work? lol

No, you don't understand. You don't want drunk viruses, you want dead ones. My method smokes them out.

BTW, Couldn't you use Time Machine to get your computer to the virus free state. or is it too late for this? or do you not use Time Machine.

No I haven't been using time machine. Guess I probably should have been.
