Lamplight -- great captures. My favorite is the last one of the duck going across the lake.

Arkansasgal,

You're cheating. It's easy to make great photographs of Arkansas, it's so pretty.

Thanks! And I'm really liking your shot from Mt Magazine. So green!

Thank you! You have some nice shots there yourself! How are you liking the Yashica Electro? I looked for that camera before I found my Canonet, and I'd still buy it in a heartbeat if I ever come across one.

Thanks... I am very happy with Electro, especially after I fixed the infamous pad. A very common problem with electros and it was a PITA to repair. I really like it a lot tho'. The looks, the way it was built, and especially the lens which is f1.7 and the quiet leaf shutter... It's got some magic to it.

Great, now I'm browsing Ebay look for an Electro. I'm trying to tell myself that an Electro would be too similar to my Canonet to justify buying, but they just look so cool!

If you are gonna get one, there are a few websites out there explaining the battery and the pad situation. Original batteries have been discontinued and there is an easy go around that. Replacing the pad is not nearly as simple, but it can be done.

I believe the battery issue is similar to that of the Canonets, and I'm fortunate there because mine still had a good mercury battery when I got it. I'd never heard of the "Pad of Death" until you mentioned it and I just looked it up. If I ever buy one (and I'm really going to try to resist the temptation) I don't think I'd want to tackle that project. I've learned I'm not the guy who needs to be taking cameras apart. I did successfully replace the light seals on my camera, though, but that's not hard, just nasty.

Yeah I was using Velvia for that shot. I wasn't really sure what to expect.

More Velvia:

Those tones are just gorgeous. Looks like a painting. What I love about film is that every roll is different, even the same kind of film.

Must have been a very purple night. on that roll.

This roll did look especially purple, and in other shots closer to mid-day, magenta.

I've had that problem with Velvia, some rolls seemed green others violet, turns out it was the inconsistent processing at a bargain basement lab.
