That's cool! Part of me wants to see a snake sooo bad, but seeing as it would pretty much have to be a rattlesnake, the other part of me would be totally freaked out to see one. :/

First time I rode all the way to the water plant at the end of the dirt road, the other morning.

I may do so again, but I *hate* the many sand pits that are closer to the plant. I have to get off & hoof it for most of them. :/

A tarantula wasp from today. It wouldn't stay still for a decent pic, just keep scurrying about.

My wildlife biologist friend told me that
bull snakes will emulate rattlesnakes when they feel threatened by flattening their heads and shaking their tails. This one didn't feel threatened evidently as he kept perfectly still. On a previous time at the same site I flushed a medium sized rabbit only to see a huge bull snake grab it in a flash and finish it off. Wish I had my camera then.

Great dandelion puffs! Getting low like that is one of my favorite things, though with my DSLR I don't find I get that perspective as much as I used to when I only had the P&S cameras.

Bluebonnet honey anyone?

And an older shot that I just now got around to processing

Thank you, it's one of my entries for this week's Farktography contest. Had at least a dozen similar shots trying to get this exact look/feel, seems I finally pulled it off in at least one frame.

Yep just a P&S here. Granted a decent one. I am envious of the macro shots you and some of the others are able to achieve.

Nice shots Nondes. I particularly like this one. Never heard of a Redstart below. Looks similar to an Oriole.
