Is this worth it to go on this trip?

I have my heart set on becoming a physical therapist. Right now, a junior in college, I am improving my GPA and will get the required volunteering hours. Although as much as I would like not having to miss Thursday and Friday, there is a 3 day conference going on in Greenville, SC for the American College of Sports Medicine.

Pros:
-Going with my faculty mentor (could be good incase I need an extra reference/letter of rec)
-Would be a member of the ACSM - good for resume
-Would hear a myriad of interesting topics related to physiology, muscle rehab, etc.
-My Exercise Physiology teacher (who I want as a letter of rec) will know about it because I have to miss his class Friday.

Cons:
-Costs 334$
-Would miss my first day of Physics Lab (would have to get that rescheduled), and two other classes...but those are classes that I can afford to miss.
-Might have to pay more $ for food.

Sigh...is it really worth it?

I would go. It is never too early to start getting your face out in the field and professional networking. Although the reality is that right now, a PT can write their own ticket in the job market. I would hire 10 tomorrow if they were available.

Which professor? I'll hunt a copy of the lab for you. Problem solved. No guarantees I'll succeed though... I've been out of school for a couple years, my friends who took physics may have trashed everything.
