A little help?

Need to know how slow my system is. Boss is complaining, but our building only has T-1 access to the internet, and it is slow.

Can y'all tell me how long it takes this page to load for you?

http://www.equitynet.net/

Took my system about 30 seconds.

If you have time, also click on the first "featured report" link at top and tell me how long it takes the DAVI page to load

Server is taking too long to respond (roughly 24 seconds). Sounds like the server or the server's tube is overloaded.

I think it's safe to say it takes about 1/2 a minute to load.

Is that your website? Hosted from the T1? If so I strongely urge you to move it to either a good shared hosting solution (cheaper) or decent VPS.

Almost seems like some kind of DNS or routing problem.

While hosting a webserver on a T1 when the standard home broadband connection is faster is a little obsolete, the tube seems fine. It looks like the server is choking when processing the pages. I was able to connect to the server and download one of the 700K PDFs on the website faster than it took to even connect to the home page. Probably needs a kick in the pants (AKA, restart the web services).

I get similar response times to everyone else. However, I wouldn't be too quick to blame someone's web server or network. After all, only the main page took a long time. The other requests from the same server were very fast.

Instead, I think this is some sort of dynamic accumulator. It would be their feeds or datasource that seems to be the problem. Assuming it's not a backend datasource performance problem, they may want to look at caching some of the remote content so that web server can deliver it faster.
