Been away for a while - catch me up on the happenings...

Ran a half marathon last Sunday, no spectacular finish time, but given that I was able to run that far for the first time since 2/08 I'm very happy. IT band injuries take a long time to recover from ... and in my training cycle i had to deal with about five months of plantar fasciitis in both feet as well.

Thinking of using my REI dividend + the 20% off coupon to buy a 2011 Cannondale Synapse... my 2003 Trek 2200 is perfectly serviceable but I'd like to have a second and newer roadbike without dropping major dollars.

Bought a couple of new guitars, Fender Blacktop series Jaguar and Jazzmaster. Swapped out the bridge on the Jazzmaster for a Mastery; I've swapped out the neck pickup on the Jaguar for a Duncan Phat Cat and I'm going to do the same with the bridge pickup.

Oh, Spring Break is next month. My 11 year old son is going to visit his grandmother's in Savannah, but my 9 year old daughter is coming to see me. When I asked her why she wanted to come see me, she said "Because you're my Daddy and I love you."

And, oh, Sacramento is about to wash and blow away in storms this week... its been the rainiest March in 5 years and they've thrown open the floodgates at Folsom Lake...

I see on Facebook that he took his weekly shower this evening. That's good.

Yes, it appears that nothing has changed that much in Foo... which is actually a good thing.

And oh, apparently the 20% off is only good on their in house brand of bikes. Um, no thanks. The aluminum frames, are, well, crap, compared to the Cannondale. "Well, you get the credit towards your dividend."

I think I'm probably going to see if I can buy a used bike anyway. Seems like lots of people get a bike and decide they don't want to ride it anymore...

Do you have a hardcore cycling club in your area? The one here has riders selling really nice bikes because they want the latest and greatest stuff. Some friends of mine have scored great bikes for about half the price.

That's pretty much where my thought process is... a bike is going to get scratched, etc. over time anyway. I'm sure if I poked around I could find something. But I already have a road bike and a mountain bike, I'm kind of scratching my head as to why I'd need a third bike other than "why not?" If I were riding 100 miles every weekend with a club, yeah, I'd probably want a nicer road bike than the 2003 2200 I have.

Oh - as I noted in the REI dividend thread, I bought a Timbuk2 Command laptop messenger bag in red... love it.

Ow - I feel your pain, I've been off the bike and no running since New years, due to a sprained ankle that keeps getting worse. Congrats on the half marathon!

I like the look of the Blacktops. Were the stock pups wimpy?

I was bored at Gtr Center some months ago and fooled around on a reissue Tele Deluxe - the "Wide Range" style Pickups didn't sound too bad (not sure how close they are to the originals - haven't played one of those since 1976!)

I stole Ben's YooHoo. Dirty dirty dirty couch (no shower known to man can remove his kind of dirty) keeps trying to say he took it. It would not surprise me if other foosters said THEY took it.

I got diabetes while you were gone.
