Nearing Employment!

I was offered a job yesterday. Nothing fancy but I'll be working outside. I'm pretty excited.

Congrats UA! I'll bet it will be good to be back to work.

I remember when I was laid off. It was a big shock. I had been working since I have been about 12 years old (as a kid newspaper delivery, grass cutting, odd jobs etc).

It actually got a little scary for me being laid off. The check was coming in and I did not need to do anything for it. It was kind of nice.

It's not a whole lot of fun having to go to work every day putting up with all of the crap that goes on in most offices but it certainly is better than being out of work.

Now that you are back employed, I'll bet a better job is going to be right around the corner.

I always liked working outdoors, or even quasi-outdoors. You'd be hard pressed to find an indoor job that offered constant sunshine and a nice breeze. Congrats on the new job.
What will you be doing?

I'll be working for the city park service. I'm stoked. It would be nice if it could lead to some regular employment but I'm taking what I can get for now.

Unbelievable. He'll have to post when he gets off the phone, but it is truly unbelievable.

We went to the bike shop to pay for my new bike (the frame is in and they're planning on building it this week.) We know the owner well and we were just chatting with him. I happened to mention that I was offered a job yesterday. He offered me a job at the bike shop. They need a seasonal employee to help build bikes and work with customers. Looks like the first bike I'll be building there is my own.

Hmm... hopefully something better than emptying the trash cans at the picnicking sites. But then, if that were it, would you be so excited?

But you do it with such finesse, you're worth the salary.

That, or no one else wants to do your job and you've made yourself indispensable.

UA -- you feel that? I just gave you the bro-slap on the shoulder.

OUT - F'N - STANDING! Congrats!

And forget all this road-apple about 'demeaning conditions' -- who gives a sh**, as long as the work is there? And you've got it X2!
