Camping gear problem

We have stored our camping gear in the attic and the Texas summer heat has caused the waterproofed/repellant surfaces (rain fly, tent floor, etc.) to become tacky or sticky. Anyone every experience this and fixed the problem?

Yup, my tents' floors get that way, especially in the corners. At least the ones that I've treated with seam sealer. The one tent that I didn't do that with (an REI 4-person dome) does not.

My stuff is in the garage, pretty hot here in DFW also, but I haven't noticed that problem.

Maybe spread everything out in a cool place for awhile?
