Newly single 33-yr-old. Should I buy truck or sports car?

I'm trying to decide between a 2011 Toyota Tacoma (which is useful) and a used BMW 328i (which is not useful).

Should I go for the BMW for the sports car appeal? Or do girls like trucks?

Confused. Currently, I drive a POS but it didn't matter until now. If I start dating again I'm going to need some respectable wheels.

(I mean, if I get a truck I can finally have a way to carry my bike!)

Any help is appreciated!

Later.

I used to have a beautiful Dodge Hemi Big Horn edition 1500 but traded it for a rare Lexus IS350, so there's your answer if women like trucks or luxury sport sedans. I also drive a muscle car. Or several.

But in all honesty, you should evaluate what YOUR needs are and get the vehicle that would suit you best for the application you need it for. Don't worry about impressing anyone with a vehicle. The lady should like YOU for who you are, not for what you drive.

If the Beamer's a 4-door a road bike will go in the back seat with removal of the front wheel.

Might want seatcovers to protect upholstery, though.

Haven't driven a 328i since the early 90s, but maybe these days they might even be one of those cars where the back seats fold down and will accept a whole bike in the trunk that way.

If the person likes you for your vehicle then something is wrong. Buy what suits your lifestyle, budget and style.

In 2003 I traded in my 2000 BMW 323ci for a 1999 Toyota Tacoma. The BMW was the stupidest thing I ever bought. So impractical.

You should keep your POS as long as it is working for you. As long as it's reliable, has appropriate air temp controls for the climate you live in, the interior is clean and it doesn't smell bad, it doesn't really matter what you drive.

Buy the truck. Infinitely more practical than the BMW. Women dig practical. The kind of women that I like, anyway.

Cars won't get you laid, I was recently shopping for a new BMW, but decided to stick with what I had. Either way Both the 335 and 135 coupes have built in roof rack mounts, which makes it way easier to put on/take off. And the 135 is one of the most fun cars I've ever driven.

Trucks get you laid in my neck of the woods. Get some 33" mudders on there and a camo ball cap and you'll pull all the faux-redneck 'tang you can handle. True story.

Be yourself. If you're comfy with a POS and it didn't matte before, it shouldn't matter now. If you're looking for a companion, she should like (love?) you for who you are, not what you drive. If driving a POS is part of the package, better to get her used to that now.

FIFY. I submit my dismal kill ratio as proof that a dilapidated pickup 'with character' is an ideal vehicle for any aspiring born-again virgin.
I'm also willing to rent it out on weekends for those of you who need a break from all the annoying horizontal refreshment.

Nowhere do you mention getting a new bike. Get the new bike, THEN worry about a new vehicle. Priorities man, priorities.

Only partially true. Practical women dig practical men. Glamorous women dig glamorous men. So, what kind of woman are you looking for? What kind of man are you? Just be you and don't put on facades and you will attract a very nice woman I'm sure!
