A night in a nearby hotel, by herself to sleep without interruption. If that's not an issue give her a certificate for a day at the spa, and free babysitting.

Awwwww - how nice!

1. Background - get a babysitter you both like.
2. Flowers delivered with a card that includes a lovely invite to a beautiful dinner out.
3. Enjoy the evening out.

Don't forget to get her a card from the little one, use something to make a fingerprint or such from them to sign it.

If you forget a mother's day it will haunt you till the end of days. Do something, no mater what, but do something.

You're getting your wife something for mothers day? You married your mom?

Stay up all night with the baby and let her sleep.

I can't stand made-up holidays! Ugh! I pamper my wife (as she is a mother) enough as it is every day!

[For Father's Day I tell her the best thing she can do is not even mention it.]

I used to agree with this before my life went crazy. Now I don't see my parents, especially my Dad, very often so I'm grateful for the excuse to take them out to dinner/get them something nice/whatever.

Different dynamic of course but the fingerprinted card IMO is an awesome idea.

+1. To hell with commercialized holidays.
