Dungeons & Dragons Survey

I'm posting this for a friend:

If you play (or played in the last year or so) Dungeons & Dragons, there's an interesting survey (just 14

questions) online: http://bit.ly/dE7ZtK

I'll do it! I've been playing D&D for like 2.5 years now.

My ex boyfriend was a D&D master (we're talking paper and dice here) - I helped him develop maps and such for him and his friends for a while - it was quite interesting to be on the "other side" developing quests and such.

Boy, I remember playing my first game of D&D back in 1975. I still have all my dice. I have not played it for 25 years.

Played once... in... mmm... 2002 or maybe 2003. I was more of a Star Fleet Battles guy, which I was terrible at, but at least enjoyed.

Please tell me that you're not serious. D&D/AD&D is just a game, no different than Monopoly, Clue, Life, Chess, etc. yes, some do/have taken it too far. But the same can be said of any TV show, movie, or song.

I mean if I am not mistaken John Hinckley, Jr. shot former President Regan in an attempt to meet actress Jodi Foster.

Your mom sold them in a yard sale. At least that's what happened to mine. Actually I still have the dice. I wish I still had my monster manual to give to my seven year old. He'd love it.

Sadly, after looking at the web site in the link it looks very real. Also sadly, a lot of people will look at anything that they do not understand and deem it as being "evil."

I agree, it strikes me as one of those companies that prints those silly little "have you found Jesus comic books" that one finds littering pay phones, and whatnot.

Hell I didn't even know that he was missing. Maybe they should put up fliers asking for help in locating him.

I haven't played in more than 20 years. IIRC, I had just started playing a Barbarian character and had just walked up to the enemy's campfire and urinated on it (as a way of saying hello, ya know?) when the Director of the Job Corps Center I was at found out about our little club. She shut us down, pronouncing D&D as Satanic.

So my idiot roommate and another guy decided to protest by throwing fireballs at each other outside her office window. We're talking toilet paper wadded up and lit up with a lighter. They were both on Greyhounds the next day...

Hard to believe anyone still screws around with rustic round dice and theater-of-the-mind anymore in the age of RPG's.

I saw that, but a lot of people who are against D&D are also against Rock music as well. As they see it as the "devils" music. Which is why I was willing to let it go as a jest until I checked out the web site listed.

And then there's most of us, who would put it in the "it's just a game" category.

Yeah, I have to wonder at those who put an unborn life above that of someone who's life might be ruined or drastically changed for the negative if they carry the pregnancy full term. Worse are the one's who are so rigid that even if the gal is the victim of r@pe or ince$t that she can't have an abortion because it's "wrong." Uh, what about what was done to her to make her pregnant in the first place?

I wish that I had seen this post before I had responded. Yes, let's keep this as low key as possible. Yes, I know that for whatever misguided reason(s) some people have a problem with D&D/AD&D, rock music, etc. And I think that that is because they've never really gave it a chance.
