So, I had to kill, again, tonight.

Hit another deer with the van again.
She only wrinkled an already wrinkled fender but the van did a number on the deer.
Given how the cops gut shot the deer the last time I went ahead and put her down first and then called the cops. At least my folks didn't roll by and witness the deed this go around.

I've spooked so many deer up close on the bike, I'm amazed I haven't hit one. It's part of the reason I don't like to bomb down the hills on the backroads at night; I figure 10-15MPH is likely to hurt the deer and bruise me a bit, but I don't want to see what 35-40 will do. (Besides, trashing a front wheel 10 miles from home at 3AM would suck.)

When the temperature is in the triple digits from 10AM until dusk, I don't get on a bike until the sun goes down. The best riding is from about 10PM until 5AM.

From what I've seen it's not legal to sell anything harvested from wild game. It's really not even legal to sell a mount.

You only got 1 out of 20?!?! That's not a good ratio. You seriously have to dial in your sights on that van!

Allen on my little Chevy S10 that I let Rhonda have and now I regret it because I miss it it had some thingys on the grill that were meant to warn deer. Not that we really needed them where I am but my brother in law had put them on there for whatever reason.

A few years back, I was dating this one woman whose ride of choice was a heavy duty pickup. A deer ran across and hit the bumper while we were going to a restaurant. Said deer was essentially dead after the hit. She pulled the truck over, dragged the carcass to the back, flopped it to the bed of the truck, and proceeded to field strip it, putting the choice cuts of meat aside to go into her freezer.

Made for a night out that wasn't that boring.

My grandfather's boss did this once in the wilds of the Central Coast of CA (produce growers, Grandpa did finance for him). Lunch BBQ for all of the workers at the freezing plant that day.

No. This is a different Stacey. He is a man. And he has been known to add 8x8 lumber to the front of his vehicle to enhance his food supply.

That has to be the hardest thing in the world. Even if I knew it was suffering, I don't know if I could do it. I would have to, I suppose.
