Gran Fondo Diabolial Double 2011

http://www.winthefight.org/granfondo...cal_double.htm

126 miles Garrette County MD.

Long tyme I know..but I just did this wild
ride in Garrette County Maryland and wanted to share.

Finally got the hang of those shifty things and yeah
brakes and thought I would test my metal so to speak.

AWSOME ride; kudos to this little gems creator.
The climbs were all brutal, the kind that seem to have
no rythum teasing you with a slight dip in pitch
only to rise up again to offer more around the next bend.
Something over 16500 feet climbing but the decents
were of a whole other order.
Approaching fifty miles an hour I sqweazed off
on the brakes wanting to enjoy the ride longer.
after all it was a ride not a race and the scenery
was spectacular as well. It was thrilling.

Six well placed rest stops in quaint tiny townes divided
somewhat evenly between seven stages with eight KOM cimbs
sprinkled in. One of the descents into a rest stop was
straight out of 'people do stupid things'crossing a dozen
streets after bombing down the side of a mountain.
Not quite sure how they did the KOM, I started wAY late
about thirty minutes back of official start tyme.
In the Phily Gran Fondo we had tyming chips for the KOM
so I just hooked up with a bakers dozen of other riders
and we enjoyed the day.

Standard double, I see. Not even a compact crank.
