Casey Anthony: not guilty

Can't say I'm surprised, but sad. No justice for Caylee.

It's pretty much set up that way. The idea being its worst to falsely imprison the innocent than it is to let the guilty go free.

We have a tradition in FL of not wanting to convict anyone who is "too pretty" to go to jail.

haven't paid attention, don't know what the evidence was, don't really care. Sad crap like this happens somewhere everyday, why does this one get nationwide attention that the others don't?

Yeah, I think there was a teacher or two down there that managed to not get convicted.
Makes me wish I went to high school down there.

On the serious side there was also a woman who hit and ran some children a couple of years ago. No conviction there for the same reason. I think she was a teacher too. Hummmmmm.

This is the first I have heard of Casey Anthony. I rather enjoy living under a rock.

They jury must of determined there was a small amout of space in the duct tape over her mouth and nose to breath if Caylee really tried.
Sad bunch of demented crackers down there in that Anthony family.

Because she's a young, attractive party girl.

I fully expect her to move to the next step, which is to host a talk show or similar.

Not conclusive evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. Not a decision based on emotional disgust or popular opinion. Very awful sad case.

I agree. The prosecution didn't have enough to work with.

I was wondering about this too. What is so extrordianry about this case that it warrents non-stop coverage?

Then the DA should be booted out of office at the first opportunity.
Now, if more evidence ever does come to light, she can not be tried again.

A lot of arm-chair jurors here. Were you all there in the courtroom for the entire thing?

I think this is the crux. Why the DA chose to prosecute with such lack of evidence.

The jury is really classy in this case, came to the right conclusions, and not ONE spoke to the media. Silver lining.

However, I think it would've been better to hang the jury and force another, hopefully more thorough and competent, trial. Eh, who knows, they probably have 10 more child murder cases already in the pipe after this one.

Just like the OJ case, rather than put together a cogent case the prosecution played to the media circus and diddled themselves.
Which is no mean feat but is amazing how often it's pulled off.
Apologies to Al Swearengen

Isn't that how most things work now? Don't think, just play the media circus?

I have to say that's the first thing that came to mind while reading this. They should have sent the trial to Texas, no evidence needed there, plus they have an express lane to the electric chair.
