About 1/3rd of the way through the 6 hour drive up to northern mich.. decided to take one of the three pups so we're having to stop every hour and a half or so. I'm riding in the moving truck and the road noise is nearly unbearable. Makes my saturn seem as quiet as the benz, and the benz seem like riding on a magic carpet in a vacuum in space.

Just made Greek salad... my youngest is on her second bowl of salad already and it is nice to have one child to eats all her veggies... and feta cheese, and kalamata olives.

My oldest will not touch the stuff, save for the olives.

Also stocked up the medicine cabinet so am looking forward to a little adult refreshment.

You too. See you next Saturday. I'll show you how embarrassingly bad I am with that bow. And BBQ is on me.

Fuji just released a firmware update for the X10, and includes several new fun/novelty modes in the "advanced" menu. The tilt/shift simulation is incredibly fun.

Still doesn't compare to an actual tilt/shift lens, but...it's not $2000+ either.

Just got back from Mich. Absolutely beautiful foliage. Unfortunately I didn't get any good pictures because we were busy and the weather was absolutely insane up there. Saturday it was nice, and then rained, and then hailed, and then was nice again, and then rained some more, and then freezing rain/ tiny hailed, and so on. Didn't have any pasties, but I did get a lot of fresh fruits and whatnot, and ate out a bunch. The 'rents new place is awesome. Built in surround sound, recent remodel, 4 bedroom, 300x100 foot lot, big decks front and back, big "pole barn," (garage built with large poles instead of traditional studs,) and really nice neighbors, the few that live there year round. It's less than a block away from an awesome 5x2 mile lake with public access and about a 10 minute drive to lake Michigan. Really nice little area. The population is only 350, but during the summer the area is jumping. Check it out if you ever want to head up to mid-northern michigan. Tons of places for rent and sale around there. Beulah is the name of the town.
