Staying up till 11 or 12 even though I have to get up at 5:30 because I like being up and alone in the quiet.

If the breaker is turned off you don't have to worry. It's probably worn wire insulation that's shorting somewhere.

Either that or it's gremlins smoking the chronic inside your appliances. Believe me, they're costly and reluctant to remove.

I'm at work. It's a little slow, I made myself this signature. I liked x136's so much, and it's the perfect format for embroidery...

We turned it off, but I still worried. I've lived through 2 house fires and 1 near miss as a child due to electrical. This was too close to a fire for me to not worry. My wonderful husband bought the replacement parts and fixed the problem. I'll sleep well tonight.

These early morning shifts are starting to wear on me. I hope those who eat lots of produce appreciate my sleep deprivation.

Bangers and mash (with some steamed carrots and beans).

And I have a beer in my hand...

What kind of cruel people schedule meetings at 1130? Then put a footnote on the agenda that says "lunch is not provided. Please feel free to bring your own lunch.". I brought a sandwich and chips one time and was th only person out of 40 that was eating.

Did they all look enviously at your food?

No, I'm a lowly staff member. I'm supposed to sit along the wall in the uncomfortable chairs with the other lowlifes and keep quiet.

Clever people who want everyone to quit talking BS and make it a short meeting?

Does the UPS job pay more?

Yup, i have a job at the clothing warehouse. I don't think UPS pays more. the warehouse job is just....boring and not physically taxing...I wanted to work in the shipping department but I guess they don't have any girls there. I just want a job where I'm moving all the time and gets my adrenaline running.

UPS job is just a package handler.

maybe I'm crazy but this girl I work with worked at fedex and she tells me all these stories and I think they are fascinating. hahah

Reading more about bikes when I should be going to sleep for my interview tomorrow...damn its about 70 miles away too. Any one ever tired of driving long distance for interviews and never getting a job offer despite the interview going to well? Damn, it sucks.

Barf smilies!!! Hell, those darn HUGE suckers want to bite and eat your finger off if you happen to dislodge a lunching caterpillar (well, anyway he rises to the occasion and scares the snot out of me - especially when down on the ground and at "one" with my plants - mending, mulching, etc).

I so miss not having a garden. Sans those big booger caterpillars of course

Oh and cbad - I have crunched down (did not eat - it was the most sour tasting thing!!!) on a small, shimmery green beetle in my salad (a purchased, sealed bag salad) purchased from a grocery store. It really took me a couple years to buying them again (I like them as a quick go-to lunch alternative - plus as a single person - I have a hard time - at times eating the huge salad I tend to make for myself when purchasing the ingredients separately - I make salad for a family of 6 mostly - too much for me )

Basking in the GLORY!

Australia scrapes past South Africa in the rugby World Club, and I won my rowing race this morning (by about a metre, but a win is a win!).

Just got back from a mountain bike ride. The trails were completely covered in leaves and I got turned around a few times.

Now heating up a pasty in the oven.

Eating a beetle would be icky but I'd recover from it. I would not recover from eating a tomato worm.
