I'm home from work with a headache. I won't be on the computer much longer either. I want coffee and acetaminophen.

That means you've banked enough sleep for the next two nights!

The French are soooo going to be hammered next week by whomever wins tomorrow's semi final.

The Welsh played well despite being a man down. French did not capitalise on this and are lucky the Welsh kicking was off.

I am eating tortilla chips with really hot spicy salsa. Yum.

Oh, and I have the requisite margarita to wash it down.

I am paralyzed by fear of the unknown!

We are getting flu shots today at work. The provider of this has sent a PDF waiver form for us to sign. The problem is that it is upside down.

So, I printed it. It was still upside down. I took it back to my desk and it was still upside down.

I scribbled a signature on the correct side of the line, but it took a lot of effort.

Stand on your head while they give you the shot.

Searched all over town for an acceptable winter coat, and found nothing I liked. So I ordered one online. I'm 42 inches in the chest, and they listed the medium size as 38-40. I hate wearing really bulky clothing, so I ordered a medium assuming it would probably be about right, expecting them to leave a little room for layers, which I wouldn't need much. Well I got the coat today, and I could probably fit a small backpack underneath it while wearing it! Also the sleeves are about an inch too long. When wearing it I look like a child wearing his dad's huge coat as joke. Another problem is that this coat is waaaay too heavily insulated for winters here. If I walked half a mile in this coat I'd be sweating in anything over 25 degrees. I contacted the company about sizing, worried that a small would be too small, as I've never worn a small in any clothing, at least not since I was eight. The lady told me the medium in this coat measures 48 inches in the chest. The small is 45 inches and the sleeves should be an inch shorter. Sounds like a much better fit for me, but there's still the issue of the coat being overly warm. Luckily I found a similar coat by the same company that's just thick wool with no other insulation, but unfortunately it doesn't really look as good. I'm going to try it anyway (in a small). I have more trouble finding clothes I like than anyone I've ever known. And except for my huge head (7 7/8), I'm proportioned fairly normally (5'9", 33 inch waist, 30 inseam, 42 chest, 33ish sleeve, etc).

Lamplight, aren't you in Pendleton territory?

I am having a great birthday. I've got my favorite meal in the oven and a superb bottle of pino noir to go with it.

Maybe? I don't know. Unfortunately I can tell from looking through their selection that none of their jackets would look right on me. I'm one of those people who looks weird in 95% of clothes for some reason, which is one reason I couldn't find anything I liked here in town.

Oh, and happy birthday!

I have acquired a fair bit of genuine Pendleton woolens from second hand shops in Portland... it is beautiful stuff.

Acquired something else that is also beautiful and came from it's original owner... I might have to open a museum some day.

1949 Raleigh...

My poor 13 year old Mavick 221 just cracked as I was straightening it for the hundredth time.

Time to look into lacing a new rim to it.
