At work we have this "box of awesomeness". People write down coworkers' names on slips of paper, tell why that coworker is awesome (work-related), then sign his/her own name at the bottom. Each Monday we draw a slip from the box and the winner receives a choice of $20 gift cards. And those who don't win still get to see the slips other people filled out for them. I didn't win today, but I did have a slip in the box. It said, "He fills my needs". I couldn't read the signature, but unfortunately it didn't look like a woman's handwriting. Now I'm wondering if I have a gap in my memory. A horrible gap.

Blargh.

Hoping I only have version A of this bug that is going around that managed to annoy the little one for a few days but put my oldest and more than a few of my friends in bed for days with high fevers.

Pass the Scotch.

Pretty crazy weather here. They've got a plow truck, bobcat, and bulldozer all plowing my subdivision. I have absolutely nothing on the agenda until thursday, which is good, but I'm already going a little stir crazy.

I hate having to be at the hospital at 6am because I'm too tired to do anything but the 2pm shift is just as bad because I don't have time for anything. Oh the dilemmas.

Here's a little home recipe for those who might be subjected to this bug that is making it's rounds... I feel like a human phlegm dispenser and have been running a wee bit of a fever all night as my bodies wages war on the buggies which should know better than to f with me.

2 tablespoons of Nin Jiom Pei Pa Koa, a few fingers of Scotch, and hot water makes one hell of a nice toddy and the alcohol free version is suitable for the wee bairns.

I actually feel like I could do **** now.

Except drive... or ride a bike.

I came into the office to find bacon, eggs, and donuts. It is a good day today.

I think it was for someone's birthday... but that's a good thought.

Actually, my day is going to consist of eating, trying to activate my new phone and failing, a little documentation updating, more eating, and getting the family taxes done.

Code blues are fun and exciting, too bad they don't happen that often.

Either I made a big mistake on our taxes and I am going to end up in Guantanamo, or Mrs. A quitting when the girl was born was brilliant. Or I am just over-withholding.

In the words of the rock band Asia... "only time will tell".

I give the Head of Household filing status in CA a big

That's the only good thing about my daughter having such a hard time finding a job.

My upstairs neighbor sounds like she's lightly but rapidly hitting a mallet on her floor, over and over and over again. She was doing that when I came home last night around 5:30, continued until after I went to sleep around midnight, and she's been doing it since about 7am this morning. Occasionally she stops and walks around for a bit, then the sound returns. *thump-thump-thump-thump*

And before anyone mentions it, no, I'm pretty sure she's not "having relations". Sounds nothing like that. My first thought was that she's sitting at a desk tapping her foot/heel on the floor, sort of a nervous habit. But the floors in these apartments are carpeted so I can't imagine how it would make that sound.

It's not really loud enough for that, plus it's too fast. Or at least, the rhythm's too fast assuming it's humans and not rabbits!

My wife is finally home from the nursing home. Happy day and she's driving me crazy already.

Thanks to all for the encouragement and prayers.

There is yet a long road ahead, and we are ready.

Well, it seems I'm spending the night. My date is awesome, her friends like me and I've been smiling all night.

I had some leftover bread scraps from making train-shaped sandwiches for my son's birthday party a few weeks back. So I stole Paula Deen's recipe for chocolate bread putting and downsized it accordingly, then fudged it a little because I have no chocolate liqueur in the house and didn't feel like making coffee. I am SO HIGH right now. Chocolate and sugar... mmmmmmm!!
