I slept 11 hours Friday night and 10 hours last night, so I'm almost caught up. Also, I'm trying my first slow-cooker recipe, beef and barley stew. T minus 7 hours.

Quote of the day, this is:

"If she wears a brassiere, her sternum is poked by underwire, her shoulders are scratched by straps, and her back fat is pushed in directions only a sausage maker with poetry experience could describe."

Dunkin Donuts has "irish creme" donuts today (or this week?). It's like a powdered donut filled with Bailey's flavored creme.

Trying to get used to wearing two contact lenses in one eye... One big soft one under a small hard one. Feels so weird. And I need this bailey's donut.

Bailey's Cream. Blah.

For some reason I am sometimes gifted it. I usually discretely hand it off to someone else. And I have been known to toss it out. I hate that stuff. Blah.

Only thing worse than Bailey's is stuff that tastes like it... without the alcohol to make you feel better.

Bailey's is good poured over ice cream.

I'm recovering from the half marathon I did yesterday. The English Beat played at the post-race concert; Dave Wakeling still has a great voice.

Hagen Dazs makes (or used to make) a Bailey's ice cream, it's already an ingredient. You could pour more over I suppose.

I must be special. Every code blue I go to gets canceled when I arrive or the person lives. If I don't attend they die. . . .interesting statistics. There used to only be one about once a month till I arrived and they are about every other day.

Remembering my mom, born on this day in 1929... although she herself was not an overly religious person she embodied those best qualities of love, charity, and acceptance for everyone without any prejudice. My wife said she embodied the virtues of St. Francis, which I think is one of the nicest things one could say about her.

Material possessions meant very little to her and although she did very well for herself, she always lived a simple life and valued friendships and family more than anything else... she was so thrilled at her birthday last year when everyone surprised her and she found herself surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

I miss her every day.

Sitting in a hotel room in Chapel Hill, NC in complete blessed silence with my wife and two sleeping children. Apparently interstate background checks take forever. But at least we got the lay of the place and I got the chance to meet the potential coworkers and a good realtor in person. Heading home tomorrow afternoon.

That was a fantastic gift Sixty. Was it difficult to get everyone on board for that day? My [big] family is fairly spread out so an act like that would be a tall order.

Why is it that no matter how helpful, non-judgemental and philanthropically it is presented, correcting someone's grammar is still considered an affront?

I've been working on a tattoo design for a coworker. I normally wouldn't agree to it but her idea seemed like something I'd actually enjoy drawing, and so far I am enjoying it. It's also good practice.
