Shot an album of fall colors pics on my way to work this morning for my mom in CA.

And I cannot WAIT to see the bill from the glass repair company.

That's exactly where the clog was when the plumber opened the pipe. He cleaned it out with a shopvac so I couldn't see exactly what caused the clog. Whatever it was, it was not dissolvable by Drano.

We had a septic tank when I was a kid. My dad used to use those to clean out clogs.

In that case, you may not want to see what it was.

Sitting here at work and I can smell my own feet even though my shoes are on. I think it's time to get rid of my 10+ year old kicks finally. I can't get the stink out of them for the life of me!

The Febreeze commercials on TV say it can get the stink out of pretty much anything.

They lie! Tried it with no results. Even with a mild odor in the air, febreeze just seems to make the bad smell stick out more. I might try the freezer trick tonight. It's the only home remedy I haven't tried, that I know of.

I would write their marketing department, tell them it doesn't work, and see what they say.

Pretty good week in jsharrland. Last night, our 12 year old played a solo in the fall concert for the 7th and 8th grade bands. Unless you knew him and his struggles, this may not seem like a big deal. It was huge. The look of pride that he gave to my wife and my parents and his brother and my brother as he stood to play is one of those forever moments as a parent.

Tonight I get to attend a Court of Honor at his Scout Troop as he receives his Tenderfoot rank. He did all the work on his own. Starting to set goals and achieve them and challenge himself.

Tomorrow we go camping as a family with our younger son's Cub Scout pack.

On Monday the wife goes in for surgery to repair an issue that has plagued and hampered her for quite a while. It will be tough on her but even this is good news, as this will be part of her past now.

Happy Friday! Up early, off to church, and back into town to the office. Getting ready for tomorrow's work and reinstalling my laptop.
I forgot to bring my lunch, so it looks like ramen today.

I am also eagerly awaiting what the glass guy has to say about the window my son broke. It's all fun and games until your three-year-old has a wooden toy snake and then gets angry and starts whipping it around. :/

Morning! Well, at least it is for me. Main sump pump when out last night so the little half-horse backup was running all night, waking me up seemingly every time I had just laid my head down. I lost count years ago how many we've been through. Too high of clay content in our residential soils here. Drainage is a b****.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to install a backup. Last spring had a few rainstorms that accelerated the big melt. As in, one of those days I timed mine. It was kicking in every 53 seconds for over a 24hour period. Not that much clay here. But this area was marshy before being developed.

Listening to Metalica, finishing up the second mug of coffee, and reading up on FITA traditional longbow rules.
Since I finished the hickory long bow this weekend (except for a little more handle shaping and staining), I'm thinking of shooting in that category for the fun of it in an upcoming shoot.

Just got back from my monthly checkup... body is still a bit of a trainwreck but I won the BP lottery for the day.

99/70 with a "just walked in from the parking lot with a mug of coffee" pulse of 55.

The nurse said I have the BP of a teenager.
