Very happy. First week at new job I put two tanks, $95, in truck. Same mileage in the Prius was $36.

I went from spending $230+ a month for gas down to less than $100.

sounds like you need to become self-employed. no annoying boss to deal with. just customers, paperwork and the tax man.

Self employed would be nice. My boss is just very stubborn in his ways, and is borderline paranoid. As far as bosses go, he's one of the better I've had, I just get frustrated with him, as I'm sure he does with me. Strong personalities clashing and whatnot.

Got up at 3:30 to drive to LA for a meeting. Seeing the lights from the shipping terminals early in the morning is an awesome sight.

Just put a third coat of tung oil on the hiking stick.

Also thinking about running to the hardware store for to get some electrical tape so I can install the new stereo in the car at lunch time.

Shopping for a truck. Again. Leaning towards Nissan right now.

started working with the oceanic simulator today. Nice to work without using a headset.

Does it have bluetooth? Darned easy way to listen to books, podcasts, or whatever with no commercials or wires.

I am now driving my old (2001) Honda civic cause I didn't want the kid driving such an old car with so many miles on it.
I just replaced the radio in it. So I am now driving a car where the radio is worth more than the car.....not exactly sure how I feel about this, but it does sound a lot better.

Tacoma was my original choice...but I drove the Frontier and it drives better. It's also quite a lot cheaper and offers better financing. Also in the mix is a Jeep Wrangler. Still have to drive them all in one day.

The Tacoma got big. I think the Nissan is still more-or-less compact pickup sized.

If you get the nissan, watch out for angry small planes.

I still think shipping in a Ute of some sort (Ford Falcon would be my preference, but you may want a Holden) from Australia is a great idea.

Not a fan of right hand drive, and the ute is too low in ground clearance. I do really badly want a falcon sedan though. And I think it'd be brutally expensive.

Frontier and Taco aren't far off in size. Similar towing rating as well.

Look at maintenance costs and reliabilty on the Wrangler versus the Nissan.
