Middle age confuses me. Last week a guy called me "Pops" and today a cute 20 something woman flirted with me and told me I had nice legs.

thank you, thank you. I just asked if I could work on something I didn't hate. I might be able to get to that at the end of the day.

Just got back from the shop... the one that services cars.

The car is gonna need a new steering rack.

In other news, have been laying the groundwork and wading through the paperwork to get RBF Cycles up and running so have been to registries and the city office to give them more of my hard earned money.

Bicycle mechanics just don't make as much as automotive mechanics although my shop is giving me a good deal on the work because we're neighbours.

Thinking the steering rack in my Subaru is done too. Wish I had time to replace it myself but it's going to the shop this time. Hopefully it isn't too expensive.

I put a help wanted ad on craigslist this morning. It said "resumes will not be accepted in lieu of a completed application". The first 6 emails I received were resumes. With misspelled words.

The first application I received had details on the person's criminal history. Pretty much explained the 4 year gap in work history.

My knee finally was ready to hold up to training again, so I went in and had a great session...until I injured my shoulder doing chin ups, and now I can't do a thing with that whole arm. Never friggin ends.

Back in Canada to visit my parents. Mum has late stage Alzheimer's. I don't know how my dad does it. Two days in and I'm being as outwardly positive as I can, but I just want to scream

Just routed my dyno wiring through the fork leg from the hub to the headlight. Good God. I know of a couple of tricks that make this sort of thing easier, but of course I don't have the necessary equipment/materials for any of that mess. But it's done now and it's a big improvement over taping the wires to the fork leg.

Anyone got any opinions on the minimum wage hike? Isn't $15 a little much? That's pretty good pay where I'm from. Most fresh engineering technologist grads I know don't get paid a lot more than that.

Disclaimer: minimum wage is $10 an hour in Canada and no I've never had to support anyone else (or really myself for that matter) while earning minimum wage. I've been very lucky so it's possible I'm talking out of my ass.
