    Need help figuring this out.

    I have a electrical device that I need to run on DC power. The generator I want to purchase is not gas powered but stores the energy in a 300 watt battery which is kept recharged. To keep it charged all is needed is to plug it in to a vehicle DC cigarette lighter or plug it into an AC wall outlet. The amount of power stored in the generator is of course dependant on on what is plugged into it & whether or not you are operating a DC device or an AC device. The generator will power both. A DC powered device will run longer then an AC device.

    The device I need to polug into the generator has a max DC power requirment of 3.0 Amps. I need to figure out how to convert that to watts. So I know whether or not the generator will be adequate to operate the device.

    So what is the formula I need to use or how do I figure out the watts the device operates at?
