What makes you think it's a ski run? Not much snow in Livermore, CA. It's at an OHV park called Frank Raines. Not sure if anyone will ski on THIS:

My friend's yard decorations. Those are filleted catfish. He really did this. He was proud of his catch.

Did all of the neighborhood cats make a pilgrimage to his yard?

I don't remember.

He cleans his catch on the hood of his car then doesn't bother to wash it. Even in the summer.

With all the car threads and Siu posting about offroading things, this is appropriate:

I can only assume that it is. I stumbled upon that picture, and started researching the Previa only to discover that... it's kind of awesome and I want one. A mid-engined, rear/all-wheel-drive van? God yes. I want to buy one, strip out most of the interior, paint the inside with that rubberized truck bed liner, and make a modern cargo van out of it.

Surprisingly, it's one of the rare vehicles that actually kind of works with the big-wheels-and-lowering look.

...not that I'd take it that far.

Oh, and being that it's a RWD vehicle with good weight balance, you knew someone had done this:

Oh my. Is that legal? That would make a nice family car once #2 comes along. Better than any current Japanese Party Barge. Not sure I want to deal with diesel, though (I have a terrible fear that Mrs A would put gas in it by mistake).

It's true. They already had a very egg/bean-like appearance, and putting less emphasized bumpers, painting it all one color, and making the wheels and ground blend into the design only makes that appearance stronger.

Part of the appeal to me is probably that it starts to look vaguely like an aerodynamicized and enlarged VW Bus.

In looking into the legality of kei cars, I seem to remember that once the vehicle is 20 years old, it's a lot easier to import/register. The fact that it's (mostly) a model that was also sold here would probably help your case, too, since it's been crash tested by the NHTSA and everything.

Of course, the boat trip from Nagoya to Oakland might add a wee bit to the price...

I kind of like the US-spec bumpers and lights better than the JDM ones.

But I'd pay for a plane ride. That second kid is due in a few weeks.

Mrs. A has done a roller coaster and some jumping of rope during this pregnancy... took a bike ride at ~6 months or so. No skateboarding, though. Her first pregnancy, she did rollerblade a bit.
