Having a problem on ebay

Okay well i am having a problem on ebay. See i was selling my mp3 player and then the high bidder contacts me with 12 hours left and says he wants out of the bid. Well your not supposed to be able to do that, the auctions over now and he wants me to do something that says buyer and seller mutually agree to cancel transaction, should i do that or file a non paying bidder?

Were there any other bidders? If so how about telling him you will agree to the no sale if he will pay your listing fee. That is not a bad deal for him, no bad feedback, and it will cost less than a buck. Then you can relist and contact your other bidders, that the item is relisted.

Good plan Rev. We do that frequently... even leave positive feedback if they pay the fees.

Rev, you took the words right out of my mouth. If he can pay the fees you paid to list it, then hey... it's all good all around. Then just relist it and see what happens.

Am I the only ******* here?

They tell you a million times not to bid if you're not serious. You can't cancel a bid. File the report and leave negative feedback. eBay's not a game.

If ******* = a$$hole, please tell us your Username... so we won't be inclined to bid. It's not a game, but no need to be nasty if you haven't been fouled.

Stacey-"It's not a game, but no need to be nasty if you haven't been fouled."
So true. I am just doing this (for now, to sell off my huge inventory of stuff I have collected in the last twenty years) but I still do it like a business. While I don't want to get screwed if I can come to an amicable (sic?) conclusion and break even in this kind of unusual circumstance then that is cool. Might net me a sale later, who knows.

Phantom, how did you list it? Maybe there are some pointers that will help you get a better shot at selling it.

If someone bids and isn't going to pay, you have been "fouled."

Don't bid if you're not serious. That's just the way it goes.

I agree, but ya know sometimes in life... ship happens. We've even had a customer die. If the bidder pays pays the fees then you're made whole so there is no foul.

If you do a good turn for people, chances are it comes back to you 10 fold. Who knows, the customer could come back when their situation straightens out.

Again, what's your username? And what's you feedback count?

We getting ready to turn 10,000 by the end of the year or early next year

A bid is legally binding. I don't let anyone out.

I can see asking out of a bid if you lost your job, but hey bidding on two items at once is risky. Play with fire, you get burned.

Just be prepared for the negative return feedback.
