Other Names?

Curious, how many online names have you had. I have always seen the question "what does you name mean" but I wonder how many they went through. I have been online since 85 (ran my own bbs pre-public internet) I am lazy with my names. Only 3 and variations thereof (1's for i's for example)

1 - Ariakas was my first. Based on a d&d character I had that kicked ass
2 - Maelstrom was my second but the first I used when I hit the internet full time (I quit computers for a few years) I chose it because of a book and because of the way I played bball (I tended to scare people when I dunked on them, oh what a feeling)
3 - Roasted...not sure why I switched but the 2 sites I used it on a Maelstrom didn't suit. I have used maelstrom in online business talks at times so I look at it like the clean brother, Roasted is more casual and less caring. I also switched because of a certain habit I had a year or so ago and the fact that I ride a kona roast.

Anyways, curious, do you have multiple names floating around

You're thinking of "Malmsteen".

"Malmstein" is one of the Five Jew Bankers.*

My name (rios) Is my last name. Pretty creative huh? I've had a few others, I try to choose strange names, like 'logic', 'effort', and 'empty'. Nothing really fancy.

I usually use real nicknames I've picked up over the years. The one I use here has to do with my job which has nothing to do with the Wizard of OZ.

KlutzonBroadway - My AIM screen name for the past two or three years. It's an Antioch Arrow song.
Punk is Dead - Use/used this on VivaLaVinyl.org, FFGurus.net, SoulSeek, and I believe a couple others. It's pretty self-explanatory. It's also a song by '70s and '80s Anarchist Punk band Crass.
ImprovCultureKill - StraightEdge.com, VivaLaVinyl.org. Since StraightEdge has ceased to exist, and all the profiles on VLV were erased, this name is no longer used anywhere. One of Policy of Three's best songs.
SnickerSnicker - Here, VivaLaVinyl.org, and Barry, You're Dead! It's a song by Portraits of Past. A really, really good song.
BikeRidesHiFives - I registered this as an AIM name, but have yet to use it. I will eventually.

I've only used this name in online forums. I've used other names as gaming IDs on Yahoo (Thorgodothunder, Uberwagenfuhrer, poit13, ndzscvtz).

If you're curious about where I came up with monogodo, you can read about it here.

I mostly use blendingnoise for most things, as I used to mix music and make tapes and such and used to put that on the tapes/flyers.

We should make the next thread om what everyones password is! I've only used one other tag on the 'Net, Doctor Manhattan, after the character from Alan Moores "The Watchmen". He's probably the greatest comic book writer of all time, who most consistently elevates the medium to a true artform, and "Watchmen" is arguably his greatest work. Kris Pistofferson was an idea for a punk band that never came about. Oh, and my "Rap Name" in high school was Stonewall, (don't ask.)

I have a genuine split personality, so Mr Spanky has one or two posts over in the archives of the Jokes forum. Apart from that, it's just been Chris L on this site (although I was known as Fatal Justice for a time in 2002), the old Bicycleforum site, the old Cyclery site, and the bike-qld and bike-oz lists.

Over on f---edcompany.com, however, I have gone by the following monikers:

Fatal Justice
Steel Fury
gnein (yeah, I know, I stole that one)
Trollman
wests
Felchmeister
Pacific Panache
Intravenous Agnostic
.
..

And there are probably one or two others that haven't come to mind as yet.

For my university logins, it is "byruma", for AIM it is "itbcrx928", which was created when I wanted to race in the ITB class of the SCCA with a Honda CRX, and the "928" is really 9-28-01, as in my anniversary with my girlfriend.

When I registered here, I almost used one of my 4 main passwords: the brand of frame of one of my 5 bikes. Then I realized that it would be too easy for someone here to figure it out, so I had to go with one of my longer, more obscure passwords.

gimpyferret - went along with one of my old high school friends handles trippyferret and skitzyferret

junioroverlord - was playing the son of an evil baron on a text based rpg a while back and wanted a witty name for the message boards, it kinda stuck. That and I used to have a 40 year plan to take over the world.

Javaman - My first online name that's not my real name or initials.

I picked up the name at work. There is an expensive superautomatic espresso machine in the company lunchroom that is capable of making excellent brew. Unfortunately, the CEO had a "Decaf Only" label put on it. So once a day at around 2:00 PM I empty out the disgusting decaf beans and put in good french roast beans for myself and the other coffee lovers. I can make the switch in 100 seconds.

My followers call me JavaMan.

Tom
