while the thread is here, I'll say I was pleased and proud as a cyclist, but then we usually come through when the chips are down. I remember immediately after 9-11 Manhattan was like a ghost town - few peds and no cars. The only thing rolling was bikes, and they kept a lot of things happening. My boss was only too happy to use me as a makeshift messenger since he knew I rode to work; not to mention I was a relaible employee when many co-workers were no-shows, as my commute never suffered when the trains were FUBAR in those awful days right after the attack...
I wouldn't mind lending my legs and lungs, such as they are, to the OWS bike generator cause. But I have no time, as I work FT.
