Prayers/vibes/thoughts/whatever you got

My dad just called.
Mom's back in the hospital...been on antibiotics for a few days. A UTI.
Well, they got the culture back this morning, and its two different bugs.....apparently very very serious bugs. He wasn't able to tell me what they were...but it really doesn't sound good. They are changing the medication, but if she's not responding by Sat. they will transfer her to hospice
I'm really torn here....She's had a really really hard go of it the last 2 to 3 years. She's been suffering a lot this last year. I don't want her to suffer....but I'm not sure I'm ready to let go yet either.

Modo... you know you and your family and especially your mom are in my prayers. I ask God that he help you through these difficult times and through whatever decisions need to be made. I ask that He provide your mother with comfort and love and that He surround her and protect her from pain. I ask God that He comfort your family through these tough times and keep you all strong. I ask Him to help you be strong for your dad, who is going to need all the strength he can right now. I don't have to tell you how God is there for you if you need Him.

You know I lost my dad this year. Losing a parent is never easy; especially a boy losing his mom. I understand the pain you are going through. If I can offer any advice is don't get wrapped up in your loss. This is not about you but about your mom and whatever happens, you want it to be with your mothers best interests in mind. You focus on all the good memories your mom gave you and on how wonderful she is and will always be a part of you. If its time to be with God, then rejoice in her good fortune. Just be there for her and let her know its OK... Give your dad an opporunity to just sit and talk... I am sure he has alot of fears about what might happen.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Modo. I'll put in a word for her. Hopes she's able to shake the bug and carry on longer.

I went through the loss of my mom about six months ago and I remember your kind words. All the best.

Lord, please help Modo's family deal with difficult times. Help the doctors do all they can to cure Modo's mom, and to ease her pain. Lord, please let Modo's mom know that she is loved, and if it is your will that she leave us, that you will ease her transition to the next life and comfort those here who love her. Amen.

Fingers crossed for you and your family, I hope everything works out for the best.

I will say though, don't be too downbeat - in May after my hip replacement I got a UTI and it took 3 days to develop the bug from a sample taken, and it was a HIGHLY RESISTANT bug they had never treated before. It took nearly 2 weeks of antibiotics but went in the end.

Nature of my medication for the past 3 years means that pretty much every bug that I get is resistant to the majority of treatments... the Doctors told me at the time "We have treatments for these types of cases, but we hold the drugs back" apparently so that they aren't commonly found in people which stops the bug from developing an immunity to the antibiotics.
