Pcad has a new axe to grind.

Well, not yet. But close to pulling the trigger on one of these.

Les Paul with P90's (I'd get the gold top version), the exclusive Guitar Center model (Gibson builds it just for them) has coil splitter switches (you pull out the volume knob). Great guitar, played it today.

Monster tone.

[strike]Can we get a mod to fix the typo in the title[/strike]?

Should be Pcad, not Pcad's. Thanks.

Done.

Ah, you mean coil tap, not coil split. You can't split a single coil pickup.

There are no words for how much I identify with the Guitar Fred in that commercial. One of my favorite TV spots of all time. I particularly like the part where Dave Navarro shows him the blistering guitar lick, says 'just like that', and the dude sits there going 'doink-doink'. That's what I would be doing too.

Actually I am considering holding out for a PRS McCarty Soapbar guitar (used) if I can find one, preferably with a tremelo. A bit harder to find these days perhaps, but I liked those guitars. I've owned both LP and PRS soapbar guitars, I just want another axe with P90's.

Or this -- only $130.

Then you don't have to feel bad for going "doink doink."

P90's are great. I like the chunky single coils in the G&L ASATs-- I think they get a similar tone and response.

I'm sure apple sells a device that would be a better investment. Look harder...

No but I'm seriously considering selling the Martin to buy a Taylor 814ce that I can plug into an amp. Martin is arguably a better sounding and fancier acoustic, but the Taylor plays like butter and has a killer built in pick up (the Taylor Expression System pickup is about as good as it gets). I have always liked Taylors. Plus the 814ce is a cutaway.

Speaking of ancient rock stars, that J. Fogerty show @ the Beacon last week was amazing. That guy is 12 years older than I am.

And I don't think you have to worry about Pcad becoming a rock star, a pro cyclist, or a billionaire, at least in this lifetime. A millionaire perhaps, but in the NY Metro Area, that's just above the poverty line.

Whether you owe a million or own a million, you are still a millionaire.

Now if only I could play decently it'd be great.

I traded that old Martin on one of these:

Bless their low-life dbag corporate hearts, the local Guitar Center matched the low price and stepped up with serious trade-in dough on the Martin so I didn't have to eBay the guitar. The Taylor plays like butter, actually sounds better in many ways than the Martin, and has the best pickup system in the acoustic business for plugging in. That helps. I also like the cutaway.

Enjoy! There's quite a few reviews and video demos of this guitar online too.
