No Win Situations...

Post a no win situation you have experienced. I'll start:

Fiance is sleeping in he room, snoring loud. If I try to sleep there, I won't be able to, ergo I'll be cranky tomorrow. If I sleep on the couch, she'll be cranky that I never went to bed. No win.

PS: Kids are sleeping and snoring too... like little fire breathing dragons.

Silicone ear-plugs for you. She might have sleep apnea, get her checked out. It can raise risk of all sorts of health-issues, diabetes, heart-attacks, etc.

I'd just push her head to the side a bit.
alternatively, roll her entire body on her side. It's really hard to snore when you are sleeping on your side.

yeah, what AEO said. been conducting experiments on snoring spouse for decades, and repositioning the snorer is easy & requires no prescriptions.

I do a variation on this theme- I listen to music through ear buds. Muffles her snoring, mouse clicking, and ice chomping.

My no win situation

Wifey seems to think she'll do better managing the household finances. Wants me to give her my paycheck via Direct Deposit- into an account I'm not authorized on. Fine, I'll play along to make her happy, closed the joint account (though my Spidey Sense is off the hook).

So far I'm not impressed. We have household bills to make (had to make pay plans with gas, power, and landlord).... and she hits the Black Friday sales. She can 'justify' every purchase, but apparently in her opinion she doesn't have enough to pay the tag on the Jeep- which expired in Sept.

Talk about a no win situation, back when I was married if I tried to push the wife's head or move her as she slept, all that ever did was get me clobbered...just sayin'.

I turned it into a win and set up our guest cot on the first floor for me. After a "trial period" we realized our sleep quality was much better, and now I'm looking for a better quality twin mattress. We still share a bed on those occasional "special" nights *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge* but most of the time we sleep separately. According to some surveys, 23% of couples are also choosing to sleep in separate beds.

That being said, ours is sort of a special case. I worked 3rd shift for most of our marriage, and we slept at separate times. I moved to first shift and we were excited to sleep together like a "real couple"--for about two months. My snoring and her tossing and turning really affected the quality of our sleep and in effect the quality of our marriage. Now sleeping together is a treat again instead of a duty-driven chore.

Kids are sleeping and your fiance is snoring... sounds like you should have tried to wake her up in a way that would bring a smile to her face.

I don't think "repositioning" is kicking the ol'mans ass out to sleep in the wood shed.

no, spry, that would be something an Ohioan would do; we West Virginians learn to roll over in bed when nudged. The people who couldn't figure that one out emigrated to Ohio.

Everyones "no win situation" is trying to impart financial knowledge - or any other information - to thier grown children!

Seems very strange to me. Heck even joint account seems strange if only one person contributes.

As long as your so knows the location of your debit card and your pin number, consider yours a "joint" account.

Here's what not to do:
Squeeze her nostrils shut.

I did this once. I almost got a rib broken by her elbow. Ouch.

incorrect. Either she closes that acct and open a joint one, or YOUR paycheck goes in YOUR acct.

Posting anything non-left in the P&R section here. I feel bad for the people who make that mistake.
